“very quiet, peaceful location with great views.

Nice place to relax and chill out with all mod cons”

29th August 2011 by Fi, Leeds (STAYED IN AUGUST 2011)

“Thank you Angie and Simon for helping to make our holiday at LaTerraza so wonderful - we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 weeks. The house is comfortable and well equipped and matched the high standards advertised. The pool was exceptional - very clean and well maintained (the best we have ever had in 6 years visiting Spain) so thanks to Simon for his regular visits.
The location of La Terraza is fantastic with easy access to many lovely villages. Lliber and Jalon provided all we needed in terms of shopping and restaurants with the added bonus of Bodega Rico (next to the supermarket in Jalon).
We would definately return and have no hesitation in recommending LaTerraza.”

“The location is stunning, we loved the space and seclusion compared to places we have stayed previously.

We had some lovely cycling trips into the hills above Jalon, and beaches close by as well. It is a great place to see the real Spain as well as the tourist Spain, and we enjoyed both.

We found La Terraza really clean and well equipped with good quality products, and having internet access was a plus. We found the restaurant recommendations very useful in Jalon and we also went to the nearby Restaurant Vall del Pop which does excellent grilled meat and traditional dishes.”

“This is a wonderfully relaxing, peaceful and scenic place to stay. The villa is very comfortable and the shaded terrace is a lovely place to chill out and enjoy the fantastic views across the valley. There is a good supermarket and a reasonable choice of restaurants/bars (some of them English run) in the local town of Jalon which is only a 5 min drive away. So you have peace and seclusion at the villa but not far to go if you fancy a meal out. We recommend Salamanca, where we enjoyed a lovely meal sitting outside under some vines, and also the fish and chips from Harry Staffords! As we have a fussy eater in the family we didn't get to enjoy the local cuisine but the owners recommend a number of places to eat in the area where you can do this.
We did venture to the coast a couple of times but found it a bit overdeveloped and built up for our tastes. Although there is a great ice cream place opposite the beach in Javea! I would recommend taking a good local map with you if you plan to explore the area as we didn't have one and got lost on the way back from the coast one day.
The house itself has everything you need including comfortable beds and settees and decent showers. The pool is a good length for swimming although we did have to contend with a large number of wasps at the shallow end. While disconcerting no-one got stung and they were absent early in the morning and later in the day so not a big problem.
If I could suggest a couple of improvements I would say that the sun loungers by the pool could do with being upgraded and the wall-mounted TV would be better if it was on a swivel arm in the living area as it is not ideally positioned for the settees.
One of the highlights of our holiday was walking up the steep road behind the villa and being rewarded with breathtaking views of the valley and encircling mountains. All-in-all a place to go to if you want to get away from it all and re-charge your batteries.”

“A lovely villa in beautiful countryside.Private but close to all amenities. The villa is immaculate & has everything you need to make it a "Home from Home".Would definitely go there again.”

“This is the perfect place for a perfect holiday. There were only the two of us staying this year, but it was just as lovely with four of us staying last year - we are already planning to book for next year. The villa is well-placed for for sight-seeing in the area and yet is in a private and peaceful setting - the views are fantastic. Angie and Simon couldn't be more helpful or friendly and the villa is spacious and has absolutely everything you need. The pool is ideal and everything is clean and well-cared for. The information folder in the villa is extremely helpful and there are plenty of excellent suggestions for places to visit. We can't fault this place in any way and feel that we will be yearly visitors for a long time to come. Highly recommended on every level.”

“This was our first visit to Spain and our first stay in a villa. La Terrazza has got the wow factor. The villa itself is larger than it looks and is very clean , modern and well equipped. We settled in very quickly to a very happy stay. Eating breakfast out on the terrace with mountain views was fantastic. The pool (with lights at night) is great and well maintained. The villa is off road surrounded by pine trees and vineyards. Many beaches are a short car trip away. We explored a little around the local area to find panoramic views from mountain roads, a prehistoric cave and waterfalls you can actually swim in. Our family of two adults and three children all think that La terazza villa itself combined with its location and views is definitely A+ . We will book again next year. = )”

“Loved the Jalon Valley beautiful but more than a bit dissapointed with this villa I think it could have benefited from a good deep clean the coffee machine had coffee still in it growing several months growth, and it would have been nice to have had a change of bed linen in the 9 days we were there! And we were only given one bath towel each for the 9 days terrible I think would you agree. The villa was pleasant enougth but the Valley was more outstanding.”

Owner's response: Thank you for your review Mrs T. We are sorry to learn that you were dissappointed with the villa and the service. This is the first complaint we have received about cleanliness in 9 years of holiday rental at the property - we have regular returning guests who are always delighted with the villa, and tell us so, hence the number of positive reviews we have here on Espana Breaks. We are, therefore, shocked to read your comments. Cleanliness is our Number 1 objective and the property most certainly had a deep clean before your arrival, as it does before each guest arrival. We provide 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 pool towel per person plus an additional hand towel in each bathroom (for your group of 2 persons there were 8 towels). We also provide washing machine detergent and fabric softener so you are able to wash anything without buying any of these things. All 3 bedrooms in the property (including the other SuperKing bed), were fully made up with fresh linen so there was actually ample scope to change pillows, duvets, etc. quite easily. All our communications and booking terms advise that we provide a mid term linen and towel change (after 7 nights) for stays of 2 weeks plus - we would have been more than happy to accommodate a request for a linen and towel change if this was something you particularly wanted. As with all our guests, we personally met you and showed you around the property and left you with a full information pack and contact details which encourage you to contact us if there is anything we can do to help you during your stay - information, property issues, anything at all. As we heard nothing from you, your comments have come as a complete shock to us. I am pleased that you enjoyed the Jalon Valley though, it is indeed a beautiful place.

“we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was nice to have a choice of where to sit outside. The villa is fabulous and with easy access to the pool from the ensuite master bedroom was ideal.

lovely area and views from the terrace were great, particularly watching the sun set over the mountains.”

“THIS WAS OUR SECOND STAY AT LA TERRAZA SO WE KNEW WE WERE STAYING AT AN EXCELLENT PROPERTY. ANGIE & SIMON ARE SO HELPFUL & SUCH NICE PEOPLE.
WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN, POSSIBLY FOR A LONGER PERIOD.”

“Beautiful views, excellent pool. Airy rooms and spacious balconies. Well-equipped cooking and eating facilities. Our second visit and will stay again.”

30th August 2010 by Pete, Sussex (STAYED IN AUGUST 2010)

“We cannot rate La Terraza highly enough. It ticks all the boxes for us and is in the most beautiful rural setting with stunning panoramic views up the Jalon valley - made all the more impressive by the removal of some of the many pine trees that surround the villa. The villa has been recently refurbished inside with new high quality kitchen appliances and soft furnishings. I have stayed in other villas in the area but they are not a patch on La Terraza. It is the ideal place to escape to and we certainly intend to return.”

18th August 2010 by The W's, South Wales (STAYED IN JULY 2010)

“Had a fabulous time in such a wonderful villa which lived up to all expectations from the website and in fact was even more spacious than the pictures showed. The pool was so fantastic that it was hard to tear ourselves away from it. The local area is very beautiful with so much to see and do that a fortnight just wasn't long enough! One "must do" which we would highly recommend is the sunset catamaran trip from Denia - unmissable! We definately hope to return.”

15th August 2010 by Kevin and Paula, Surrey (STAYED IN AUGUST 2010)

“A fantastic villa in a wonderful location. We loved the views from the terrace looking out over the valley, a fantastic spot in the daytime or evening. We travelled as a family of four with two teenagers aged 18 and 19 and they loved the pool!
The villa is clean and spacious and it is a lovely touch that you are met and taken to the villa on your day of arrival.
I would not hesitate to recommend La Terraza to friends and family. However, a car is absolutely essential.”

10th July 2010 by Steve & Charmaine, Chelmsford (STAYED IN JUNE 2010)

“Excellent location - superb views from the terrace and pool and the surrounding area is ideal for those who want to experience Spain away from the tourist areas

Trips into the mountains highly recommended”

22nd June 2010 by Kelsey (STAYED IN MAY 2010)

“This is a lovely spacious villa with plenty of Spanish character. It has beaufitul views and is situated in a quiet, peaceful area. We went with our five kids and they enjoyed being in the pool which is a good size. The kitchen is well equipped, three comfortable bedrooms and satelite TV.
I would recommend this property to families, or anyone wanting a peaceful break.”

21st June 2010 by Trace, Coventry (STAYED IN JUNE 2010)

“Had a wonderful time at La Terraza, the villa had everything that we needed to make our holiday a success, a short walk to a couple of delightful little villages, where you could eat & drink at very reasonable prices. All in all had a great time.
1 word of warning, whilst the villa great for adults I would be wary of taking small children as there are a number of steps around the pool area that could do with gating off so that you can relax a little bit more.
On my shortlist already for next year”

“The villa was extremely well located in a tranquil location in the Jalon Valley. A car is essential but the local villages provide all amenities should you not wish to venture too far, with the beaches of the Costas about a 20 - 25 minute drive away. We have been booking villa holidays for six years now and this villa is the one we would say was a home from home, the quality of the fixtures and fittings ie Furniture, bedding, bathroom towels, outdoor towels was excellent. Items we normally have to run out and buy such as dishwashing tablet, washing power were provided, in addition to a welcome pack including milk, tea, coffee, wine, enough to get you by until you can get to the shops next day should you arrive late. We would recommend this villa for a quite, relaxing stay.”

23rd May 2010 by Julie and Ian, Ossett, West Yorkshire (STAYED IN MAY 2010)

“We had a lovely short week stay in this beautiful , well designed and maintained villa. It was very peaceful and relaxing - ideal to unwind. Easy access to major local towns and good supermarket and shops (including a good selection of Bodegas!) in Jallon. We would definitely recommend this villa and will be back again.”

10th May 2010 by Robbie & Fiona, Bangor NI (STAYED IN APRIL 2010)

“Definitely one of the best villas we have stayed in and without hesitation we'd stay there again. As we were two couples it was particularly good because of having the 2 bedrooms with large double beds and adjoining bathrooms, both very tastefully decorated, so that neither couple felt second class. Problems of damp in the 2nd bedroom which were mentioned in a previous review seem to have been resolved - there was no sign of it when we were there, and the owners have extended the terrace roof above that bedroom to stop it recurring. (And we did get a chubasco or two during our time there).
The highlight was enjoying dinner on the balcony in the evening sun, out in the countryside, with the wonderful view of the Jalon valley stretched out before us. Also, the living area is very spacious, with lots of terrace space for sitting and eating outside, and a great pool. Some other things which we found particularly useful, and which you don't always get provided, were the pool/beach towels and sunshades, and having dishwasher and washing machine powder provided, plus the wireless broadband access. The substantial music collection was very much to my taste!
Hard to think of negative things. We couldn't find a potato peeler. It would have been nice to have been able to eat breakfast outside in the sun - it's probably possible to find somewhere on the terrace to do that later in the summer. The ladies would have liked to have had a hair-drier each when they were both getting ready to go out in the evening! I would have liked some Spanish TV channels to practise Spanish and watch Spanish football. The water is desalinated, so bottled water is pretty much necessary (or fill up from a local font).
However, I feel that these are picky things, and overall this is first class accommodation, with very helpful owners. We would highly recommend it.”

25th April 2010 by Lynne, Manchester (STAYED IN APRIL 2010)

“This is a beautiful villa with a definite wow factor. It has everything you could absolutely want or wish for and it suited our family of three generations. It was very spacious inside and the outside space was amazing. We went quite early in the season so the pool was cold but the children (and a couple of the adults managed to make use of it). Best of all given the time of year (April) we were able to sit outside on the terrace, eating alfresco, with the full evening sun given the villa is west facing. Lovely area, lovely villa ......... and the owners were very welcoming and very helpful. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough.”

23rd October 2009 by jacqui giles (STAYED IN OCTOBER 2009)

“Very good villa. Extremley profesional service, we have stayed in many villas but have never had the service we received from Angie and Simon. The only down point was the downstairs bedrooms that were damp and smelt musty, whilst this did not bother us a we used the superb bedroom upstairs, it would have been hard to choose who would have to have slept in the damp bedrooms if we had come with the other family we normally go on holiday with. Hence why the villa only hasfour stars and not five”

Owner's response: Thanks for your review, Jacqui. We had a problem with the "gota fria" rains the previous week to your arrival which allowed some rainwater leakage into the downstairs bedrooms, hence the damp smell. The "gota fria" was particularly bad this autumn and came much earlier than usual. Some folks had their houses swept away in SE Spain. We knew you would use only the main floor of the villa, otherwise we would have, of course, moved you to another villa had you required all bedrooms. You were our last booking of the 2009 season and we are now having the entire naya area covered with roofs in the same way as the centre area is covered, which will prevent any further problems when we get our tropical-type rains.

16th October 2009 by Judy/Bridgnorth (STAYED IN OCTOBER 2009)

“Beautiful villa with stunning views. We have stayed there several times - sometimes with family/friends & also just as a couple. For us the big bonus is 2 x kingsize bedrooms which means that guests don't feel 2nd class by being put in a twin room or that we have to compromise on our level of luxury. Well equiped kitchen & excellent outdoor facilities - tables, sunloungers, barbeque & good sized pool which is very private. A car is a necessity because of the location; we always pick up a car from the airport which means that you have access to all the small towns & villages in the surrounding area. We are planning another visit next year with Australian friends.”

2nd October 2009 by denise and tony (STAYED IN SEPTEMBER 2009)

“what a great property- it was exactly as shown in the pictures. Everything that we needed was there for us and we had a fantastic stay and will definately return. We didnt move far from the villa and so if are looking for an away from it all break this is the place for you. The local wine was good and very cheap and we definately found 'the real Spain'.
If there was to be a couple of negatives it would be that if the villa was filled its capacity (we were only 2) the only accessible toliet from the pool is the ensuite to the master bedroom. Also the barbeque is a little far from the kitchen and there wasnt an outdoor fridge or work area. Not a huge problem as the main kitchen is fab but something to be aware of if you are big on alfresco dining and the only thing that could improve on the property in our opinion”

9th September 2009 by Pete, West Sussex (STAYED IN AUGUST 2009)

“We cannot rate La Terraza highly enough. It has everything a family could need and is in the perfect location. This was our second year at the villa and we will be coming back again next year. The pool is beautiful with just the right amount of shade most of the day and the accommodation is so spacious. We particularly enjoy eating out on the terrace and enjoying the views of the Jalon valley. The only minor suggestion I could make for improvement would be to remove a few of the trees to improve the view further.”

19th August 2009 by Sally, Woodbridge (STAYED IN AUGUST 2009)

“We had a fantastic time at La Teraza, it didn;t disappoint us in anyway. The accommodation was fab and the location beautiful. We were there for the local town (jalon) festival and the nearest village festival, it was fascinating and made our English village fete look very silly. Would thoroughly recommend it. Only thing that would have been nice is mountain bikes so you could explore without taking the car, even though our nightly walks to the village and onto the town only took 40 minutes. On the whole no complaints it was a fantastic week . Brayshaw Harman and Moyes Family.”
