“We had a fabulous time, boys loved the pool. Villa very spacious and was ideal for our party. Cleanliness of villa was good and we appreciated the change of linen; the pool towels were great as we had a 'no frills flight' with strict luggage allowance! My husband was very pleased with the English TV channels as he could keep up to date with the cricket. We always had plenty of hot water which was good. Lynne very helpful prior to our stay and provided comprehensive info about villa and surrounding area. Although there is a supermarket within walking distance ( It has alot of english brands but quite expensive) we found it cheaper to do a big shop at large supermarket, we got a taxi there and back for about 10 euros. We managed well without a car. We would not hesitate to recommend villa and will consider returning.”

“Although it was lovely to stay somewhere quiet and private, and Golf Del Sur is exactly that, I was disappointed with the first impression of the Villa.. in a lovely compound stands many beautifully finished villa's, their walls presentable and inviting, however, after driving along these streets amongst these well presented properties, you come upon Ville Esselle, where the paint is flaking off the exterior walls and the windows of the 'conservatory' look dreary and dirty & the Satalite dish rusted!.. the tiles on the steps to the gate are also broken and this left a lasting impression.. . the pool was brilliant, the boys loved it and the pool was cleaned on day 3, but there was no form of heating in the villa, it rained for our first 4 days so drying clothing and towels was difficult! I did ask for a heater but it wasnt delivered (I had a problem getting in touch with the number left at the villa - the office was closed for christmas, so I had to text the owners in England). All in all we had a great stay and for a family in the summer months the villa would be perfect if they could look beyond its current exterior decorative state.. unfortunately for the owners I am an Interior designer therefore may be more critical than your 'normal' holiday maker!!.. saying all that, the interior decoration was neutral and what you would expect in Tenerife, the information given to us by the owners prior to stay was second to none, this also includes the correspondence via text, I think a good lick of paint on the exterior wall, a few minor improvements and an up to date television may be what the villa needs to meet the requirements of the winter holiday maker especially if the weather is against them...!”

Owner's response: I thought I'd copy the response from our manager over there regarding the Christmas break:-

"The only point I can comment on is the issue over getting hold of us. We left a nice welcoming note for all people arriving over Christmas and wishing them a lovely festive period in Tenerife. We pointed out that the office was closed but the emergency phone was still in operation if we were required and gave the number. We didn’t hear from her but instead from you - which is no problem - and we duly went around to sort out the problem with the safe. I know you mentioned a heater but even in the days when the weather wasn’t good over Xmas the temperature was still warm ..... If I got that wrong then I apologise"
Thanks, Jon, for the comments.

As for the outside, yes, the guests are quite right-it does need repairing. However, we are trying to find someone who will tackle the job! The problem is the garden irrigation system leaking out through the exterior wall. To repair the wall properly would mean excavating tons of soil as the outside wall is around 12-15 feet high! A coat of paint lasts less than a year. The one broken tile on the step will be repaired as part of this work. The satellite dish is not used and will be removed as part of the external work.
With regard to the comments about the TV – It’s 4 years old and I’m not sure that swapping a perfectly working 32” TV to a new LCD one is very “green”! When the TV breaks it will be replaced!
We are glad that our guests enjoyed the pool area so much and had such a good time. We really appreciate ALL feedback (especially from an interior designer!) that is given to enable us to provide our guests with a better holiday.
Kind Regards,
Lynne & Stuart

“Just wanted to say a huge Thank you for allowing us to stay in your
beautiful villa. We returned in the early hours of Thursday morning from our
best holiday EVER!!! We had intended making this our last visit to Tenerife
but after discovering your villa and the San Blas area we are now thinking
of returning again this time next year. The villa itself is outstanding and
we all loved the pool area. The squares at San Blas had eveything we needed
to keep us entertained, plenty of restaurants, icecreams for the kids a very
reasonable supermarket and of course lots of bars for the obligatory
lunchtime cold beer.
Thanks again and hopefully we will be in touch to re-book next year.”

“Really nice Villa, home from home really with the full kitchen and utility room! Quiet and secluded area although near to all amenities. We stayed here with our friends and young family and the pool was ideal, we had no problems at all. Would thouroughly recommend this VIlla.”

“We stayed at Villa Esselle in March '09 with two young children and loved it! There was plenty of room inside and outside for the children to run around. The pool area was totally enclosed and very private. The water temperature in the pool was fabulous. The steps leading into the pool were outside the main part of the pool which made a very safe area for the children to sit and play. There was plenty of DVD's for adults and children and CD's to play. The garden at the front of the villa is very pretty and enjoyable to walk through. The covered terrace is lovely for eating out or just getting out of sun for a while. The sun shines on the pool all day long which is great as some places we've been you end up moving the beds around throughout the day.
It was only a short walk to the restaurants and shops and the close proximity to the airport was very convenient even with the noise from planes landing and taking off. You become immune to the noise after the first day and it actually provides great entertainment for the children plane spotting.
There was a British "freezer" store just up the road to the left as you leave the resort which had very good prices for BBQ food's etc. There is a beautiful beach in El Medano only a 10 min drive away. This beach has the last protected sand dunes in south canaries and is wonderful. We tried some other beaches but none nearby lived up to this one as most as pebble beaches. Playa de las Americas is only 15 min drive away and has a lovely promenade and beach.
We had a very enjoyable time and would definitely stay here again.”
