This 2 bedroomed villa is located in the Beach Villas development just a 7 minute walk to the centre of Caleta de Fuste, local beaches and Atlantico Commercial Centre with supermarket, cinema, bowling alley and many shops and bars.

The villa well presented and has been recently decorated throughout. The accommodation can sleep up to 6 people (sofa bed in the lounge area) and has fitted wardrobes in all bedrooms. The lounge/dining area has a television with UK channels and DVD player. There are 2 bedrooms,1 double and 1 twin. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a self-catering break. The bathroom is fully tiled with bath/shower over, WC, basin and bidet.

At the front of the property is a walled terrace area. Stairs lead to a very sunny roof terrace with sun and mountain views. At the rear of the property is a large,private terrace area with a private pool. The pool retains good heat all year round and is ideal for children as it is not deep (1.2 metres). There is a pool cover to keep it warm and clean when not in use. A stone built BBQ is also in this area plus sunbeds and outdoor furniture.

The development is very safe for children as there are only walk ways between the villas and traffic is not allowed. There is plenty of parking allocated to the development and the villa is close to this.

A small welcome pack with tea, coffee, water, milk and a bottle of cava is provided for your arrival.

Fully insured airport transfers can be arranged at an extra cost.

About Costa Caleta, Fuerteventura

Costa Caleta (formerly known as Caleta de Fuste) thrives on tourism, with lots of accommodation to offer, a fantastic golden sandy beach popular for water sports enthusiasts. The tourist centre of El Castillo (the castle) stands next to the harbour and is well worth a visit.

The town of Caleta is often referred to as a holiday village. In the last few years they have done a lot of work with the beaches so as well as the huge horseshoe shaped beach, they have also created three beautiful sheltered 'lagoons' just a couple of hundred yards away - they form a pair of giant stone arms reaching out into the ocean but not quite meeting in the middle. This means that the beautifully clean Atlantic ocean refreshes the lagoons constantly, tiny fish dart amongst your toes and it feels like a lovely safe place to bathe. These are therefore also great for swimming and paddling with the children and somehow you feel incredibly bouyant - like the Dead Sea - you can just float as though sitting in an armchair. The beaches are thick soft sand (actually better than the large one) and don't get crowded either. As part of the giant 'arms' there is also a wooden boardwalk with a lovely cafe at the end on a stone island. This is a fantastic spot for a drink, meal or ice cream as you are actually 'in' the ocean with a gorgeous view back to the little town and a lovely breeze coming off the multi hued sea - truly fabulous on a hot day.

There is a multitude of good restaurants in Costa Caleta that can cater for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Steaks and Fish are particularly good, however there are also Chinese, Indian, Greek and English restaurants all within a close area. There are also a number of good supermarkets within the area.

Situated on the east coast of the island, roughly 10km south of the airport and approximately 20 minutes south of Puerto del Rosario. There is a local bus service, which runs every 30 minutes and provides air conditioned coaches for the trip. At 1 Euro (65p) it is an extremely cheap and easy way to get around. Budget car rental in Costa Caleta is available for those wishing to explore the island at their leisure.

Owner's Tips

Caleta de Fuste is just a short drive from the airport and is a very popular location for families due to it's sweeping, horseshoe shaped, bay which provides safe bathing for children. The beach is just a few minutes walk from the property as are the nearest shops, bars and restaurants. The High Street has plenty of shops for a little retail therapy, or for some more serious shopping then head down to the nearby Atlantico Centre which has a large supermarket, banks, boutiques, a cinema (with at least one films playing in English at most times), a ten pin bowling alley and amusement arcade. The Atlantico Centre is just a 10 minute walk along the beach promenade and at the rear you will find some beautiful, man made, lagoon beaches with sunbeds and parasols.

Watersports enthusiasts are well catered for in the harbour area where you can go deep sea fishing, scuba diving and much more. Or why not see the local sealife from a different perspective and take the submarine trip around the harbour followed by a sea lion show.

Fuerteventura enjoys year round sunshine and it's diverse scenery means that it really does have something for everyone from the stunning sand dune beaches in the far North and South of the island, to world renowned surf beaches and, of course, plenty to keep the kids occupied if they get tired of the beach. If you hire a car then take time to explore the mountainous interior and maybe head down south to the Oasis Park Zoo and Cactus Gardens, or head north to Corralejo and spend a day at the Baku waterpark or even take a ferry across to the neighbouring island of Lanzarote for a change of scenery for the day.
