The villa is on the edge of Pinar de Campoverde village, surrounded by orange and lemon groves, next to and overlooking the tranquil Rio Seco (Dry River) nature reserve, with its pine covered walks. and Grand Canyon style natural gorge, carved by ancient fast fowing rivers. Now a dry river bed it is a haven for all kinds of rare and protected flora and fauna.
Campoverde is a friendly, clean, and well maintained village in which to live and holiday, with a thriving mixed community of Spanish and people from all over Europe. It is one of the healthiest places in the world to live as stated by a UN report.
The village has a well developed shopping area only restricted in size due to the geographical nature of the village. A splendid range and variety of shops, bars, restaurants, doctors surgeries, chemist, banks, ladies hairdressers, supermarkets, DIY, gift, shoes and clothes shops, I think I`ve mentioned most! On Sunday there is a small weekly open air market where everyone gets together to do a little shopping and to join in the vibrant cafe culture.
The village also has a sports complex including tennis courts, basketball, five a side football and two large outdoor swimming pools.
There are many great 18 hole golf courses all in the immediate vicinity from Lo Romera only 3 km away to the famous courses of Villa Martin and La Manga. Just about any sport you can think of is available to enjoy from horse riding, squash, sub aqua, fishing, windsurfing, sailing, cycling, football, microlighting even cricket.
One beautiful feature of the village and in particular our village is that is located on higher ground than the surrounding area which attracts a nice cooling and refreshing movement of air.
Nearby ( 8km ) is the town of Pilar de la Horadada with its weekly market and all facilities, bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, it has many small shaded squares and parks, where you can just relax and watch the world go by!
Just beyond the town is the beach, one of the finest anywhere, with almost limitless free parking. There are miles of glorious blue flag beaches close by and for the more adventurous just down the coast towards Cartegena are some spectacular beaches hidden in coves.
The next small town 2 km down the road from Pilar is San Pedro, with its fishing heritage, and one of the biggest and most interesting open air markets. Held on a Monday with the widest selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, olives to household, gadgets and clothing, in fact just about anything you can think of.
San Pedro also boasts one of the best restaurants (The Clock Tower) in the region if not the whole of Spain, expensive but not outrageously so, for special occasions it will surpass the expectations of even the most discerning of people. It is also home to the world renowned Mar Menor ( Minor Sea ) the largest shallow sea water lagoon in Europe, the water is always warm where it is possible to swim and enjoy all kinds of water sports all year round, or take the health giving black mud treatment!
Alongside the Mar Menor is the splendid Lo Pagan promenade, stretching some 3 km and more into the sea almost reaching La Manga, perfect for a cycle ride or stroll after an evening meal. And to the left of the promenade is a unique salt water nature reserve, perfect for walking and watching the flamingos and other migratory birds .
For those whole enjoy travelling and exploring and want a good day out there is an abundance of places to visit.
Torrevieja, (20 km) an old fishing port with narrow streets and a very modern sea front promenade with cafes, icecream parlours, bars, restaurants and an almost permanent open air market.
Elche, (40 km ) famed for the Lady of Elche bust, a Roman beauty of the 4th century. Mid August every year the Mystery of Elche is performed in the basilica of Santa Maria, now a World Heritage Event.
Alicante shaped by its Greek, Roman and Moors history, now a modern marina port with traditional old town combining effortlessly with 21st century shopping,
The Cathedral city of Murcia, (60 km ) regional capital of this area, has everything expected of a modern city, built around the old town on the river, it has its bull ring, cathedral, old covered market and its large modern out of town shopping complex.
And already mentioned the impressive Roman city of Cartegena, the historical naval port with the Peral submarine, first launched 1888 on display on the sea front adjoining the facinating old town. Surrounded by its mediaeval walls and at its heart the old Roman amphitheatre, still used today.
An amazing and quite beautiful city to visit, Categena mixes tradition, history and culture with its many museums, marina, port, naval yards and shopping centres. Visible from the town are the old mediaeval watch towers on the surrounding hills, where the more energetic can drive/walk up to gain the most spectacular views of the city and port.
For the younger visitor there is Benidorm with attractions and entertainment for all ages. And if shopping is your forte there is the abundance of open air markets, traditional shopping towns and modern out of town shopping centres all close by.
Or maybe if this is all too hectic, then enjoying the beach or relaxing by the villa pool with a cool drink followed by a BBQ is more to your liking.
There are far too many things to mention here so we keep details in the villa of these and many other things to do and our caretaker will be pleased to give all the help you need to make the most of your holiday

“First of all dealing with Austyn was a pleasure - a very nice and helpful man.
The villa is gorgeous and very comfortable with all the amenities that you could possibly need. It is peaceful and you can sit around the pool and not be overlooked. You can walk to the nearest village and supermarket. You would probably need a car if you want to explore further afield but if you are looking for a peaceful holiday, with lovely weather then I would definitely recommend this villa.
Can't wait to go back!”

“Well appointed villa with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely to be able to sit on the shaded veranda or have a dip in the pool. Had a very relaxing time a great place to recharge your batteries. Shops and amenities nice and handy but you definitely need a car to get around.
Some lovely unspoilt beaches in the area. We really enjoyed our stay.”

“Our family experienced 2 weeks if bliss staying at this villa. The accomodation is appointed to an exemplary standard to facilitate a very comfortable holiday - especially the mattresses which other properties sadly skimp on. To compliment is a most cooling, spotless swimming pool to sooth sun kissed skin, sufficiently large for gentle exercise or an inflatable comfortable chair! Just book it . . . you won't regret it!”
