This tasteful resort on the sheltered southwest corner of Gran Canaria enjoys a glorious year-round climate and is perfect for those seeking a peaceful sunny holiday. Puerto Mogan is a delightful combination of the original whitewashed fishing village nestling on the hillside which overlooks both the golden sandy beach and marina harbour below.
Nicknamed “Little Venice”, the resort has been carefully designed with a maximum of three levels to maintain its unique ambience. Behind the marina harbour, where yachts from the world over are moored, is a charming network of walkways and canals overhung with colourful tropical flowers and plants.
There is a wide choice of excellent restaurants, cafés and bars in Puerto Mogan, many overlooking either the beach or the harbour, and also a variety of shops, boutiques and a good supermarket.
Activities generally revolve around the water and apart from swimming and sunbathing include diving, fishing and yacht trips. You can take the glass-bottomed ferry to Puerto Rico and Arguineguin, although there is also a good local bus service and taxis are on hand at reasonable rates. There are also two major golf courses within easy reach of Puerto Mogan.
Puerto Mogan is a relaxing low-rise resort with no volume tourism where the emphasis is on sunbathing and water-related activities such as fishing, swimming, boat trips, yellow submarine to explore the sea bed etc. during the day - and when the sun finally goes down visitors devote their energies to wining and dining in style, chilling and completely forgetting the fast lane.
Most of Puerto Mogan's restaurants are located either on the beach front or overlooking the delightful marina harbour where yachts from all over the world are moored. Almost everywhere you go you will be able to enjoy either freshly-caught fish, paella or delicious steaks or lamb joints cooked Spanish-style, not excluding wonderful pizzas and pasta in one of the many Italian restaurants in the area.
Night life is relatively limited in Puerto Mogan but there are a number of late night bars for those after-dinner brandies, and a few cafés or bars have live music on certain evenings. There are also periodic jazz festivals for lovers of traditional jazz on the harbour front - we will be happy to provide the dates for these!
An extra word about our amazing climate. Puerto Mogan with its ideal position in a sheltered vally, enjoys one of the finest year-round climates in Europe. In the winter months the days are wonderfully sunny with temperatures in the high seventies and early eighties. Yet do not underestimate our great summers. Far from being too hot for comfort, although the temperatures are of course higher, the heat is dry, not humid and whilst you get that wonderful suntan you are cooled by the lovely light sea breezes. The long summer evenings are pleasantly warm and perfect for lazy relaxation on the terrace over a jug of sangria or a couple of bottles of chilled white wine.

“We stayed in apartement no.2, which we found excellent, well kept and well equiped with everything functioning as expected. Luisa and Rob Baldwin were extremely friendly, efficient and knowledgeable in making our holiday perfect. We allready made reservations for four weeks next winter.
We understand that apartement owners have agreed to use sun panels to heat pool water and that construction of the aoutopista through to the Mogan valley during next year. That will take away our only basis for complaints.”

“Just returned from 2 great weeks at Golden Beach Apartments Feb 2011. The apartment was of the highest standard and spotlessly clean. We stayed in a ground floor apartment next to the pool and found it quiet and relaxing. The only downside was that the pool was far too cold to enjoy and there is no shallow part it is over 5 foot all the way round. We normally stay in the Club De Mar so know Mogan very well, this apartment is perfectly placed only 2 mins walk for the beach and harbour. We will certainly be back as we enjoyed it so much. Thanks to Rob and Luisa for all their help in booking the holiday much appreciated.”

“Another wonderful place to stay in Mogan courtesy of Rob and Luisa. These apartments are brilliant with a lovely pool infront of your terrace. The apartments are in an excellent location, quiet, exceptionally clean and modern. We will again be back.”

“Everything was fine with the apartment, no problems. One problem that needs to be sorted is the parking area- we saw non- residents who were visiting or staying in accomodation across the road using the dedicated golden beach parking area, and also a "local" with a tatty grey 4wd constantly parked on the road across not one but TWO of the parking spots, blocking the access to them.”
