About the property

The highest house in a charming village in between Alcaudette and Martos offering the best views around. Renovated to provide modern, clean and inviting accommodation. Swimming in the lake just 2 minutes away, and you can hire a small 2 man dingy from us to explore the lake or go fishing.

The house has a double bedroom downstairs and a downstairs shower room. There are also two lounge areas (one has sofa bed which can sleep 2) and a large modern kitchen / dining room. The kitchen has most equipment that you will require including a washing machine.

Upstairs is a twin room, a double room with a private terrace and wonderful views, a single room and a bathroom. There is a sunny patio outside for alfresco eating and a spiral staircase to a small upstairs terrace with stunning views over the lake and countryside.

A welcome pack of milk, butter , bread, tea and coffee and bottled water will be waiting for you on your arrival. Bath towels are provided and beach towels can be hired if required to help with your suitcase space. There is an iron, hair dryer and a few plug converters. The house is old and therefore has thick walls to keep you cooler in the summer plus a number of room fans and there is a wood burning stove with integral bread or potato oven in the lounge and wall heaters to keep you snug in the winter.

There are a number of steps in the house between rooms which may make it unsuitable for physically disabled people, sorry.

This is real, undiscovered, rural Spain. Very few tourists leaving you free to discover the area and practise your Spanish!

Owner's Tips...

Fantastic location beside a beautiful lake and on the Via Verde for walkers. Excellent fishing in the lake with international competitions. Swimming permitted in the lake and beautiful walks / cycle rides around the 15 km perimeter.

Ideally situated to explore, Jaen which boasts a beautiful cathedral and castle, Granada with its stunningly beautiful Al Hambra Palace and Cordoba with the amazing Mezquitta Cathedral; all within an hour. Las Casillas is close to the Subbetica National Park with wonderful walking, birdwatching and sightseeing, including the towns of Priego de Cordoba and Iznajar and many delightful villages. Fascinating bat caves to explore at Zuheros and many lovely restaurants to complete the day. There are outside swimming pools in most towns and many markets to explore on every day of the week
Also a base from which to explore the ski resorts of the Sierra Navada just an hour and a half away.

This is true undiscovered Spain, a place to really relax. Go back to a time when villagers sit outside their front doors on balmy summer evenings and chat to their neighbours.
