About the property
Situated against a stunning mountain backdrop Casa Amarilla sits in over 4000 m² of its own grounds. The terraced gardens lie behind an arched gateway and are a mix of fruit trees, shrub and flower beds.
The owners live on the upper floor keeping the entire ground floor as a completely self-contained guest apartment with wonderful views of the gardens and surrounding mountains.
Being both private and secluded it is a place of great tranquility while nonetheless being wonderfully practical set as it is amidst the lovely, verdant countryside on the edge of the La Safor National Park.
The master bedroom has been designed to be a romantic haven from the heat of the Spanish summer and the interior feels like an extension of the garden with a tranquil pale pink and white décor. The king size bed is simply beautiful with a white enamelled ironwork frame and brass fittings below a white canopy. French windows open directly onto a covered terrace. Step outside and the theme is continued with white wicker furniture where you can relax and breathe in the mountain air and the amazing scenery. An open terrace adjoins the naya for sun-worshippers or al-fresco dining in the evening.
The second bedroom, originally the water store for the house, has been lovingly re-designed to form a bedroom that continues the water theme. Decorated in pale blue, white and yellow it has a king size bed that can be arranged as two single beds if required. French windows lead onto the terrace shared with the master bedroom.
The spacious lounge has two settees giving more than ample provision for relaxing yet the room feels uncluttered. A wood burning stove provides additional atmosphere in the autumn and winter months. There is satellite TV, DVD and a music system.
The fully appointed kitchen includes oven, ceramic hob, fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave and dishwasher. There is a dining area suitable for up to 8 people.
There are two bathrooms, one with a large corner bath and the second with a walk-in shower.
The pool (shared with the owners) and its surrounding terraces are enclosed by low walls providing a genuine sun trap but with shaded areas. Sun-loungers and table/chairs are provided for guests. The pool itself has a near constant depth of 1.5m.
There is also a small covered bar (maintained on the honour bar system) and a summer kitchen with full laundry facilities, barbeque and traditional wood fired pizza oven.
Casa Amarilla is ideally suited for hosting wedding receptions, birthday parties or a gathering of friends for an anniversary or other celebration. We have a reputation for preparing the ‘best paella in Valencia’ to grace your party table and can offer a variety of party buffet menus.

Owner's Tips...
Tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, mountain biking, mountaineering are all available locally.
The renowned El Saler golf course is 45 minutes drive away.
Casa Amarilla can provide special home-cooked meals that come ready for you to pop in the oven to eat when you want to, or can be served, piping hot, on your terrace at a time to suit you. All dishes are reasonably priced and include a Valencian salad and crusty bread.
Pla de Corrals village (2-3 minutes walk from Casa Amarilla) has two bars/restaurants serving meals lunchtimes and evenings.
The nearest town is Barxeta which has 3 small supermarkets, 2 butchers, bank and a number of bars and restaurants.
The larger and historic city of Xátiva is only 7km away. Xátiva is dominated by views of its ancient castle and is also where the infamous Borgia family originated. Guided historic tours are available to make the most of this wonderful town. Eating out is very good value both at lunchtime and evenings.
Valencia City, with the Americas Cup port, L'Oceanográfic (one of the worlds largest Aquaria) and the truly awesome City of Arts and Sciences with its fantastic architecture - and of course wonderful shopping - is only an hour’s drive away and can also be reached by an excellent train service from a nearby town.
A beautiful drive over the mountains takes you to the fantastic blue flag beaches of Costa Azahar. Gandia, a busy town with a magnificent beach and promenade, is about 25 minutes drive away.
Visit the village of Bocairent built on the side of hill, with Moorish caves. Go to the rock pools at Pou Clar where the water is cold even in the heat of August.
Guadalest is a spectacular mountain village – well worth visiting

Casa Amarilla has an indoor non-smoking policy although you may smoke outside the apartment.
No pets are allowed with the sole exception of Assistance Dogs (and then only by prior arrangement).
Regrettably Casa Amarilla is not suitable for wheelchair access.
The apartment itself is quite child friendly. The pool area can be locked but does not have a shallow end having a near constant depth at around 1.5m.
There is a steep flight of 21 steps to the owner's front door and these cannot be shut off at all.
