Dos Flamigos is a a quite delightful holiday home in the charming and unspoilt Andalucian town of Fuente de Piedra, it overlooks the famous flamingo lagoon and is perfect for anyone who enjoys bird watching or who just wants to get away from it all and sample life in
a traditional small Spanish town.
Dos Flamingos is newly built and with the sympathetic use of local materials combines well the convenience and ease of a new property with the traditional charm of a Spanish house. It has the benefit of full air
air conditioning and a fully filtered water system.
The entrance hall leads into the open plan living dining room past a delightful enclosed feature patio with plants and a fountain. This gives a lovely feeling of light and space to the house. From the living room there are large patio doors opening out onto the enclosed and private patio with its´feature swimming pool, this is a salt water pool so no unpleasant chlorine.
The living room is very comfortably furnished and has an open fire place which makes it very cosy in the winter months. The covered patio also has a feature BBQ which can act as a fireplace in the cooler winter evenings and a teak dining set.
The kitchen too is open plan with a counter dividing it from the dining area. It is clean and bright and well equipped with a ceramic hob and oven, large fridge freezer, microwave, double sink and a good selection of pots and pans etc.
Also downstairs there is a another room where the television and video are installed, due to the poor signal reception the owner has kindly supplied a good selection of videos for her guests entertainment along with a number of puzzles and games. This room also has a futon that can comfortably sleep a 5th guest. There is a downstairs bathroom with walk in fully tiled shower, toilet and hand basin.
Stairs lead up to the two main bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, a large en-suite, full bathroom, its own balcony and a very spacious walk in wardrobe. The second bedroom is also en-suite and has a walk in fully tiled shower cubicle, plus its own balcony and walk in wardrobe. From the balcony there is a staircase leading directly down to the patio and swimming pool. Also on this floor is a laundry room with an automatic washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.
A further staircase leads up to the 2 roof terraces. These have been well positioned, one at the front of the house and one at the back, to take in all the views of the flamingo lake and the marvellous surrounding countryside. Solar panels are also fitted on one of them and these give you a constant supply of environmentally friendly hot water. There is however a back up system for cloudier winter days.
There is an integral garage with direct access into the house, or you may safely park outside on the road.
In short Dos Flamingos offers extremely pleasant and comfortable accommodation for anyone wishing to explore this delightful part of Spain.

All prices are in Euros and are based on up to 5 people sharing and is per week, per house. It is fully inclusive of all electricity, linen, towels and a welcome pack.
There is a reduction of 100.00 euros per week for a couple alone.
In the winter an initial welcoming fire will be laid in both of the fireplaces, firewood can then be provided at cost if required.
The salt lagoon at Fuente de Piedra was exploited as a salt mine from the Roman era until 1951. However today it is a well protected Nature Reserve and home to the largest breeding colony of pink flamingos in Iberia and the second largest in Europe. In addition it
is a wintering place and on the migratory route, of numerous species of birds, many of them legally protected and some in danger of extinction. There is an information centre for visitors and some well constructed hides are available for birdwatchers.
In addition to this attraction there are many other places of interest to visit. El Torcal is a fascinating nature reserve particularly well known for its unusual limestone rock formations. It also has 30 different varieties of orchids in the park. Again there is a very useful information centre for visitors and 3 routes have been marked out for walkers ranging from short and easy to longer and more difficult.
Another bonus for guests at Dos Flamingos is its central location. It is just 45 minutes from Malaga airport and about 1 drive hour from either Granada, Sevilla or Ronda. Additionally you can take the high speed train and be in Madrid within 2 hours.
The town of Fuente de Piedra offers visitors a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants and the larger town of Antequera is just 15 minutes away.Dos Flamingos is actually the second to last house in the village so has the advantage of being close to all amenities whilst having open countryside right on the doorstep.
