About Villa Gemma

Villa Gemma is very special and has all you need for a relaxing break. It is detached and positioned on a quiet road with stunning views over the orange groves and mountains. The private pool has steps at one end to give easy access for small children, with a larger, communal pool a few minutes walk away. The tiled area by the pool is ideal for sunbathing or eating al fresco. The balcony overlooks the pool, ideal for keeping an eye on the children and superb for eating or sharing a bottle of wine whilst taking in the views. The villa has its own well established garden, with privacy for sunbathing and the secluded roof terrace is ideal for the all over tan!

There are two good size bedrooms with fitted wardrobes,one double and one twin, with adequate space for one or two additional fold out beds, particularly suitable for children. The large bathroom has both bath and shower and the fitted kitchen is generously kitted out and even has the convenience of a dishwasher.

Air conditioning to living area and main bedroom will keep you cool through the hot days, and pull-back glazing to the balcony keeps in the heat during the cooler, Spring or Autumn evenings. The overall atmosphere is calm and rejuvinating - you will return home refreshed.

A complimentary welcome pack will be provided of bread, cheese or ham, milk and a bottle of wine. In addition you will find tea, coffee, olive oil and other basic essentials in the cupboards, as well as BBQ coals and lighters.

Rental price includes your exclusive use of the Villa, pool and garden plus normal usage of electricity and water.

A complimentary Welcome Pack will be provided of bread, cheese or ham, milk and a bottle of wine. In addition you should find tea, coffee, olive oil and other basic essentials in the cupboards, as well as BBQ coals and lighters - please use and replace these so that they are available for future guests.

A service charge of €50 is payable locally which includes the supply of bed linen & towels for all guests on arrival plus the cleaning of the villa at the beginning and end of your stay. Beach towels can be loaned for a small charge.

A refundable security and damages deposit of £/€150 is paid on arrival.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking and the balance of the rental is payable 6 weeks prior to your arrival.

About Algorfa, Costa Blanca

Situated some 30 minutes from Alicante airport, Algorfa is a top destination for golf lovers, with many new courses only a short drive away. There are numerous beaches close by, many of which have the blue-flag rating, La Mata and Guardamar are particular favourites. Algorfa enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate and the region boasts many citrus groves, including orange and lemon as well as olive trees.

Owner's Tips

Don't believe the Google Map above! Most of the roads shown do not exist - there is very little traffic - even on the 'main' road. The Villa is quiet and private! The "urbanisation", as these things are called, is a mature collection of houses with individual identies rather than the serried ranks of uniformity which are so common in Spain.

Close by are the beautiful towns of Elche, Orihuela, Novelda, Alicante and Murcia with their historic buildings plus ample scope for shopping.

The nearest sandy beach is at Guardamar - a 15 minute drive.

Walkers will find plenty of paths to follow, going right into the local villages away from the tourists.

A little further afield are the spectacular mountains of Guadalest, hisoric Cartagena, vineyards at Jumilla, the exclusive resort of La Manga and, on the coast, Santa Pola, Guardamar and Torrevieja provide superb beaches and countless bars and restaurants. Fit in a visit to the small island of Tabarca; ferries leave from Santa Pola and other coastal towns.

The local village of Algorfa has a supermarket, several restaurants, bars and other essentials, and there are many restaurants within a short drive. La Finca golf course, with its own clubhouse available to all, is within walking distance and there are many other golf courses in the area. The golf complex has a small but well stocked supermarket plus restaurants and bars serving a variety of snacks and meals.

There are large supermarkets at Orihuela and Torrevieja and several others within a 10 minute drive.

Child friendly activities in the area include a water park and go-carts , dune buggies, a 7 screen cinema, and ten pin bowling, as well as the nearby glorious beaches. For the active there is diving, swimming, mountain biking, horse riding, wind surfing, water skiing and para gliding - all within easy reach.

Meet the owners...

About us
I am a full time English teacher and love my work but it's a hard, intense job so I really value the times I can spend in Villa Gemma, where I can relax and re-charge the batteries with my husband, John, and son Edward. I have two older daughters as well, one of them the mother of my four delightful grandchildren, so family life at home is busy too. When time allows, I am trying to learn to speak Spanish as I love the language.

What we love about our property
Villa Gemma has the perfect location - it's in a quiet urban area with enough amenities in the locality for all essentials. It's position overlooking orange groves with the mountains in the distance is the perfect setting for unwinding. It is very private with its own pool and space for sunbathing or retreating to the shade when the sun is too much. I love the balcony for sitting quietly with a book or a glass of wine (or both!) where the twinkling lights and sunsets really give that 'holiday' feeling. The villa is calm and peaceful with a real homely atmosphere. I love walking in the palm gardens at Elche and lunching in my favourite seafood restaurant, Casa del Mar, in Santa Pola. I can't wait for the next opportunity to visit!

“We've just returned from an 11 day holiday staying at Villa Gemma. Everything was wonderful especially the pool which we used everyday. The neighbours were very friendly and helpful and we even got invited to a party at one house!! A very comfortable and homely villa with everything needed for a relaxing break. Local amenities are not far but you do really need a hire car if you want to visit the beaches and nearby towns and cities.”

“We had a fantastic 2 week honeymoon here. The villa was spotless, the pool is as described, private and sucludded. To be really picky internet and harder pillows would be the only improved that we can think of!! Location wise easy to find and beautiful views from the roof terrace. Local town needs more restaurants but the area was perfect for a peaceful holiday!”
