Casa Chica is a lovely holiday home for two to three people set in the heart of the wonderful Andalucian village of Genalgaucil. If you wish to get to know Andalucia and it's people then this is the village to do it in. It is clean and beautifully kept with most of the streets being traffic free which makes the air from the surrounding mountainsides clear and pollution free.
The people take a real pride in their village not least because of the marvellous art exhibits liberally scattered throughout the area. These are a result of an unusual event which takes place every two years when the local council pay for artists to visit Genalgaucil for 2 weeks and create works of art at their expense which then become the property of the village. It is fascinating to stroll around and spot all there varied, unusual and excellent works of art.
Casa Chica itself offers accommodation over three stories with the first floor consisting of an open plan living/kitchen area. The wood burning stove makes it very cosy in the winter, especially as the owners supply all the firewood free of charge from their own Finca. Stairs lead from here to the good sized double bedroom with a full en-suite bathroom and then on up to the top floor where there is a bed settee which can accommodate a third guest and a door out onto the roof terrace.
Overall it is a charming holiday home in a most unique and unusual village.

The Serrania de Ronda in which Genalgaucil is located offers many wild and unspoilt places to explore. For hikers and birdwatchers alike there is so much to offer and some wonderful places to visit. There are numerous small roads and pathways leading to delightful spots within the municipality, such as the Los Reales de Genalguacil and the areas of the rivers Almáchar and Genal. The countryside surrounding the village is quite beautiful and ecologically important, and the best way to get to know it is to walk. Of particular interest to nature lovers is the Los Reales de Sierra Bermeja area, where one can see the rare pinsapo trees - a species of Mediterranean pine – and animals and birds like the mountain deer and the various species of hawks and eagles. Interesting too is the area known as Los Morterestes, situated in the middle of a pinsapo woods where the first settlers here mined gold.
About us
My name is Ruth Polak and I live with my family near to the village of Casares in the mountains of Andalucia. We bought a run down Finca of 30,000 sq m. of land in 1992 and my husband, being a builder, renovated and built the house up.
I began renting an apartment on our Finca and our house in the village of Casares about 6 years ago and since then I have taken on other peoples villas and apartments to rent for them.
I thoroughly enjoy helping people to organize their holidays and using my knowledge of the area to help them to get the most out of their holiday on the Costa del Sol. I also work closely with my owners to ensure that their properties offer holiday makers good quality accommodation at reasonable prices.
What we love about our property
I hand pick all of the properties I represent to ensure that they offer good quality and value for money and hope that you have a very enjoyable holiday on the Costa del Sol.
Year we bought the property: 1992
