Benalmadena is divided into three areas. Benalmadena Pueblo, a beautiful Andalucian village with narrow streets of whitewashed houses with flowers covering the balconies. Arroyo de la Miel, a small but modern and fashionable town of shops and businesses popular with tourists. Benalmadena Costa, with a 9km long beach and a 2km long promenade.
The beautiful Puerto Marina with over 1000 moorings has twice been awarded Best Marina in the World. It has a new shopping centre plus 200 shops, bars and restaurants and also a shipyard, sailing school, diving school, nautical school and a Sea Life Centre.
Parque de la Paloma features a large lake with a fountain and waterfall with ducks, swans and other water fowl and landscaped gardens with enclosures for a variety of animals and birds. Rabbits and other wildlife roam free. The large Cactus Garden displays cacti from all over the world.
If it's culture you are after, Castile Bil Bil is an amazing Arabic building with a series of fountains outside, which houses exhibitions and concerts hosted by the Town Hall. Benalmadena Auditorium was opened in 2003 with a recital by Jose Carerras. Many famous people have played here and the open air concerts are not to be missed. Casa de la Cultura has exhibitions and concerts throughout the year.
There is a thriving nightlife for younger people or choose to go to the 5* Torrequebrada Hotel which houses the resort's only casino and a spectacular cabaret show.
With Tivoli World, open air markets, the cable car, the Dolphinarium and many other attractions, Benalmadena has something for everyone, be it old or young!
About us
My name is Ruth Polak and I live with my family near to the village of Casares in the mountains of Andalucia. We bought a run down Finca of 30,000 sq m. of land in 1992 and my husband, being a builder, renovated and built the house up.
I began renting an apartment on our Finca and our house in the village of Casares about 6 years ago and since then I have taken on other peoples villas and apartments to rent for them.
I thoroughly enjoy helping people to organize their holidays and using my knowledge of the area to help them to get the most out of their holiday on the Costa del Sol. I also work closely with my owners to ensure that their properties offer holiday makers good quality accommodation at reasonable prices.
What we love about our property
I hand pick all of the properties I represent to ensure that they offer good quality and value for money and hope that you have a very enjoyable holiday on the Costa del Sol.
Year we bought the property: 1992

(STAYED IN MAY 2010)
“We stayed here in May and were delighted with the apartment (when we eventually got into it!). It was very well furnished and nicely decorated, almost like staying in a hotel - nice toiletries in the bathroom. We did not use the self catering facilities but everything was there if we had wanted to - a large kitchen with all utilities.
The main bedroom was very nice with large double bed. The back room was quite plain and much smaller, with twin beds. Good for families with children but singles might have to toss a coin to see who gets the best bedroom!
The hotel is a short walk up a steep incline. We were staying on the top floor - (good lift access) - so we had a good view of the area. There is a busy main road close by with constant traffic - not too noisy but you can hear it from the front rooms.
We were delayed travelling by one day due to the ash cloud. I e mailed the agent to ask if accommodation would be available the following week in case we had to reschedule our flights until then. The agent advised that there would be accommodation available. However, as we managed to rebook flights for the following day, I e mailed the agent again to advise we would be arriving one day late at a later time. We were told to pick up the keys in the hotel across the road from the apartments.
When we arrived at the hotel to pick up our keys we were given a letter advising that our booking had been cancelled - there had been a mix up with the apartments booking office (they assumed we were not coming until the next week) and the agent (who knew that we were coming a day late). Neither really accepted responsibilty.
We were put into a horrible plain room in the Hotel Sol. This was a major inconvenience, as we had not intended to share rooms (one smoker). Although the reception/lounge area of the hotel was quite nice, the bedroom was horrible, no cold drinks, coffee facilities etc. When we asked about changing rooms the reception advised that all the rooms were the same.
In the event, we stayed 2 nights in the hotel and were then moved into the apartments that we had originally booked as a family had had to leave earlier. The apartments were so nice that it was really annoying to think we had now missed 3 nights staying there!
The staff were friendly and helpful. We were not charged for the 1st night of our holiday, we assume that this was compensation!
Booking mishap aside, I would definitely recommend these apartments they are also very close to all the local amenities.”
