About the property

Renovated bungalow set within 5 minutes easy walk from friendly village of Fuente del Conde located in the south east corner of the province of Cordoba. Ideal for anyone wishing for a relaxing holiday in a typical Spanish village and yet central to the historical sites in the area.

Whatever your level of Spanish, the very friendly local people are always pleased to pass the time of day with you.

Accommodation consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and bed settee in large,bright and airy open plan living room/kitchen sleeping in total 6 people. The property is fully equipped from towels and bed linen to fully equipped kitchen including washing machine, fridge/ freezer, TV and DVD. There is a cot and high chair available.

Outside there is a small patio with table and chairs where you can enjoy practically year round al fresco dining.take advantage of the panoramic views from the roof terrace. There is ample safe parking.

Broadband internet connection may be freely accessed from owner's house in the village. Winter heating is provided by electric radiators which, although not romantic, are clean and not time consuming. Being fully insulated, the summer heat is amply catered for by room fans.

Board games are available. The owner has an extensive library of both children's and adult books which can be borrowed freely.

Holiday rental prices

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£) and are based on 6 people sharing.

All prices include 7% VAT, water, electricity, winter heating, gas and linen. Mid stay cleaning will be extra - optional.

Prices are for up to 6 people. Longer stay prices available.

Deposit of 25% to secure booking and rest to be paid 30 before arrival. Cancellations made prior to 30 days of arrival will lose deposit. Cancelations made within 30 days of arrival will lose full amount unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Preferred payment methods:- bank transfer or PayPal.

Owner's Tips...

Fuente Del Conde is situated centrally for visiting the historic sites of Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Malaga. The village has it's own supermarket which seems to sell practically everything. The bar/restaurant opens around mid-day and closes when the last person leaves!

There is a small children's playground opposite the bar and a football pitch where any visiting children are welcome to any kick-abouts.

Activities in the area include golf, bird watching, wolf watching, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and walking. Arrangements can be made for spanish lessons in the village to help you during your stay.

As most people know, Spain is a land of Fiestas with the result that there always seems to be a Fiesta in one of the surrounding villages. The Fiesta in Fuente lasts for 3 days at the beginning of May. The area has in the past been settled by the romans and the Moors. The original name of Fuente del Conde is derived from the Roman era meaning village of the Cave houses.

Iznajar, built on a hill was settled before the Romans arrived and the castle was built by the Moors. The lake also named Iznajar, was built during the time of Franco to supply water for towns to the north towards Cordoba City.

Loja, 20 minutes away, is rumoured to have been founded by Noah's grandson. It was also known as the Gateway to Granada. Rio Frio, near to Loja, is famous for it's trout farms, which supply the restaurants in that village.

Antequera is an interesting archaeological site, with among other finds are the Roman Baths. The Subetica National Park to the north of Iznajar, is worthy of a visit.
