About Casa Luna

Casa Luna is a beautiful detached country property consisting of a 2 bedroomed house with an independant studio apartment attached, thus accommodating upto six people. It is set in the heart of the delightful rolling countryside of Andalucia, midway between the village of Gaucin and the larger town of Jimena. It sits up high overlooking a lake and beyond to unspoilt hills and meadows with Gibraltar and Africa in the distance.

The villa is set in 12 acres of peace and tranquility along with the owners three bedroomed farm house. However both houses are totally separate and independant of each other.

The main villa has two bedrooms, one double and one twin. The house is full of rustic charm with beamed ceilings, terracota floors, a log burning stove in the living room and country farmhouse style furniture. The downstairs is open plan with a large living/ dining room and a pretty kitchen which is well equipped with a full cooker, fridge/freezer,microwave and automatic washing machine. Satelitte TV is available in the living room.

Outside there is a lovely large patio where you can enjoy al fresco dining whilst taking in the panoramic views across the lake and unspoilt countryside beyond. Steps lead down from there to the charming studio apartment which will comfortably accommodate two people. It has it's own kitchen and shower room along with an open -plan living /dining room which also features a comfortable double bed on a raised plinth.

There is a separate patio area outside the apartment with steps leading passed Casa Luna and on up to the swimming pool. The two properties together offer spacious and superior accommodation full of rustic charm and character in the most delightful setting imaginable and are absolutely ideal for a party of six who perhaps want to be able to spread out a bit and not be on top of each other. It is possible however to rent just the villa alone.

About Gaucin, Inland Andalucia

This charming village off the coast resides on the side of a steep rocky hill in the heart of the Andalucian countryside. Yet it’s ideal location means that the coastline and all it has to offer is only approximately 30 minutes drive away.

The village is full of traditional style buildings and there are lots of sights to take in, including the old convent, castle and the ancient church of San Sebastian. Walking around you can also see some magnificent views across to North Africa. The national park of Alcornocales is located at the edge of the village, which offers great walks in the open countryside.

Owner's Tips

The immediate environs of Casa Luna offer many peaceful country walks with only the sound of birdsong to disturb the peace. The property lies at the end of a 2 km private track so there is no traffic to
disturb you or pollute the clean fresh air. It really is the most wonderful setting for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

The village of Gaucin is about 10 minutes away by car and here you will find a good selection of bars, shops and restaurants. It is a typical Andalucian white village where the traditions of Spanish rural life are still very much in evidence from the bull running at Easter to the Feria on the first weekend in August.

The larger town of Jimena is about 10 minutes in the opposite direction. There is a station here from where you can take the train to Ronda. This is a lovely scenic excursion with the historic town of Ronda at the end of it. The whole area is a wealth of unspoilt and beautiful countryside with much to see and explore including the Alcnocarles National Park. The bird watching is amongst the best in Europe and the spring wild flowers are a delight to behold.

About us
My name is Ruth Polak and I live with my family near to the village of Casares in the mountains of Andalucia. We bought a run down Finca of 30,000 sq m. of land in 1992 and my husband, being a builder, renovated and built the house up.

I began renting an apartment on our Finca and our house in the village of Casares about 6 years ago and since then I have taken on other peoples villas and apartments to rent for them.

I thoroughly enjoy helping people to organize their holidays and using my knowledge of the area to help them to get the most out of their holiday on the Costa del Sol. I also work closely with my owners to ensure that their properties offer holiday makers good quality accommodation at reasonable prices.

What we love about our property
I hand pick all of the properties I represent to ensure that they offer good quality and value for money and hope that you have a very enjoyable holiday on the Costa del Sol.
