Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has many advantages for those who are looking for sun, sea and sand as well as good fish restaurants that generally host the catch of the day. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the main harbour.
The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to be one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view - perfect for couples and families.
About us
Hola! I'm Deborah and I live in the North East of England with Geoff, my partner and our dog Jasper. We work like maniacs in the UK to ensure we can have a few weeks each year in our Lanzarote home.
We have been holidaying in Lanzarote for around 11 years and fell in love with the charm of Playa Blanca and thereafter never felt the need to holiday anywhere else. We enjoy eating out so we love to sample the various restaurants in Playa Blanca and we sample all food including more typical Canarian dishes such as grilled fillets of fish with garlic and we adore Indian food so strange as it may seem, we have eaten some wonderful curries there too! However, we also like to 'eat in' (infact, we just love eating!!) and the villa wins hands down on the 'eating in stakes' against the UK, as a night sat eating outside without wearing thermals on the top terrace is terrific!
We are also keen walkers (me more than Geoff but he tags along!) so when we are in the UK we are out and about over the fields with our dog and when we are in Playa Blanca we combine our walks with another love of taking an afternoon drink whilst 'people watching' on the seafront promenade in the harbour area or at the Rubicon Marina.
Fortunately for me having OCD of all things being perfect, Geoff is great at DIY so the fact that he is given a list of jobs each time we visit is not seen as being too horrific!
What we love about our property
We rented many villas in Playa Blanca before deciding to buy our own in 1996 so our check list of requirements was well researched and very lengthy! I will try and summarise what we love about our villa as I could probably write a book!
Firstly, we love the fact that it is in the sun but you will know that anyway! We are sun worshippers so the fact the villa enjoys the sun all day long is ideal. The villa is only 35 minutes drive from the airport so if our baggage is prompt we can arrive at the villa within an hour of landing - superb as the quicker we can 'don our shorts' the better.
The villa is positioned within 10 minutes walk of of Playa Blanca centre or 3 minutes by car so it is ideal for eating out and shopping. The villa is in a very quiet mainly residential area and has the advantage of having a driveway.
The villa has a top terrace that overlooks the private pool area and is the ideal place to eat and we have have positioned the BBQ so this also overlooks the pool. We were lucky that the previous owners of the villa chose to install a very expensive and stylish solar heated pool and having used this I would not wish to revert to using one of the less expensive varieties! We like to have a feeling of space so the 500 metre plot size suits us perfectly as the pool area is very spacious and we also have a large and established Canarian garden. We have wicker chairs positioned outside the patio doors from the double bedroom which have very comfortable seat pads and we love to sit here for a pre-dinner drink and a night cap!
The inside of the villa is ideal as there is a separate kitchen and the dining area and sitting room area which are not cramped together. We have stocked the kitchen with lots of crockery, pans, glasses and other necessary utensils. When previously renting ourselves, we were often frustrated with a lack of items supplied so we have tried to cover all requirements! We enjoy listening to music and watching an odd film now and again so the DVD player is great and Geoff likes to keep updated on the news so Sky News is aired for 10 minutes or so each day!
Geoff and I visit our villa sometimes with friends or family and we find the inside space ideal as you do not get 'under each others feet' and the fact that there are 2 bathrooms a great help. Infact, if we are there on our own we have a bathroom each which is terrific! I could go on and on and as I write this, I would love to be there right now.
Year we bought the property: 2006

“Excellent accommodation, equipped to a high standard and lovingly cared for by both owner and management company.
I don't think there would be room for me to do Cima Alta justice, don't hesitate, I didn't and just wish that I could have stayed in this little peace of heaven and forget where my return ticket was!!!!
A massive thanks to Debbie & Geoff for sharing their holiday villa with us and an even bigger thanks to Cerys & Paul who most certainly know how to take care of things and make your stay one to remember.
Hope to return to Lanzarote very soon!!!!! All the very best to you all for a fabulous 2012.”

“If you have never stayed in a villa before don't miss the chance to stay in Cima Alta. From the minute you book you can begin to dream about your holiday. You get plenty of help from debbie and geoff and when you arrive it is to a very comfy villa and a fantastic pool. You will find everything you need and if by chance you don't Paul and his team will be there to help you. We have just had two weeks in the villa and we didn't want to come home!”

“Villa Cima Alta is a beautiful property and in an ideal location, about 15mins walk from Playa Blanca town and we found not having a hire car was no handicap.
The inside was equipped with everything you could possibly require, furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean for our arrival.
The outside area was lovely, with an dining/bbq area which had a removable canopy if the midday sun became too much.
The pool is of a particularly high specification and there was plenty of room for our young boys to play inside and out.
The owners really have thought of everything - even the directions from the airport were thoughtfully translated into Spanish which made things so much easier for our Taxi transfer.
If you are considering this Villa for your Holiday I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.”
