About the property

Unique apartments in Puerto Mogan offering excellent value, beautiful sea views in an ideal position only 100 metres from the beach. Balcon del Sol is a charming whitewashed building of only 6 apartments in the old fishing quarter of Puerto de Mogan, built on the hillside facing the bay and reached via 39 gradual stone steps, making it unsuitable for those with walking difficulties.

Our five attractive holiday apartments are either on the first, second or ground floor of the building and are bright, clean and comfortable and carefully maintained. The first and second floor apartments sleep two and have either balcony and twin bedrooms or private sun terrace and either separate double bedroom or double bed-sitting room. The ground floor apartment sleeps two or three (as there is a sofa-bed in the sitting room) and an outside seating area on the communal terrace of the building. All kitchens are equipped with 4-ring electric hob, fridge, kettle and toaster.

Perfectly situated for all of Puerto Mogan's amenities, including the beach, marina harbour, shops, restaurants and bars.

About Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria

This tasteful resort on the sheltered southwest corner of Gran Canaria enjoys a glorious year-round climate and is perfect for those seeking a peaceful sunny holiday. Puerto Mogan is a delightful combination of the original whitewashed fishing village nestling on the hillside which overlooks both the golden sandy beach and marina harbour below.

Nicknamed “Little Venice”, the resort has been carefully designed with a maximum of three levels to maintain its unique ambience. Behind the marina harbour, where yachts from the world over are moored, is a charming network of walkways and canals overhung with colourful tropical flowers and plants.

There is a wide choice of excellent restaurants, cafés and bars in Puerto Mogan, many overlooking either the beach or the harbour, and also a variety of shops, boutiques and a good supermarket.

Activities generally revolve around the water and apart from swimming and sunbathing include diving, fishing and yacht trips. You can take the glass-bottomed ferry to Puerto Rico and Arguineguin, although there is also a good local bus service and taxis are on hand at reasonable rates. There are also two major golf courses within easy reach of Puerto Mogan.

Owner's Tips...

Daily trips on the glass-bottomed ferry to Puerto Rico and Arguineguin. Sailing and fishing trips available. There are periodic jazz festivals in the bandstand by the marina harbour during the year. In terms of nightlife certain bars and cafés have live music some evenings but we are predominantly a resort where the emphasis is on sunshine, swimming, wining and dining and complete relaxation.

A small note on our amazing weather. Puerto Mogan, ideally positioned in a sheltered valley, benefits from one of the finest year-round climates in Europe. In the winter months the days are wonderfully sunny with temperatures in the high seventies and early eighties. Yet do not underestimate our great summers. Far from being too hot for comfort in the summer months, the temperatures are of course higher, but the heat is dry, not humid and whilst you top up your sun tan you are cooled by the lovely light sea breezes. The long summer evenings are pleasantly warm and perfect for chilling on a terrace or balcony with a large jug of sangria or a couple of bottles of cold white wine. Bottom line being - we are a wonderful holiday destination any time of the year at all!

“For a self catering apartment, we found the cooking facilites a little bit sparse. But that didn't matter, as we decided to eat out all of the time. The apartment was really clean, cool inside without the need for Aircon and had a lovely view. Altogether a pleasant experience and we would come here again.”
