I started my business Find The Real Spain from the successful and extremely enjoyable experience of renting my own property, La Terraza, in the Jalon Valley. Friends and neighbours here in Spain approached me to rent their properties for them and that´s how the business started! I have a portfolio of around 30 properties for holiday rental - individual, high-quality and all with private pools, in the areas of the Jalon Valley, inland Costa Blanca and inland Costa del Azahar (between Alicante and Valencia).
I´ve always enjoyed travel, homes, gardens and sunshine so I guess this is the ultimate job for me! We offer a very "hands on" approach to our guests ensuring that they are met on arrival, shown around their holiday property, answer any questions they may have on arrival and we are always at the end of a phone for support if required during their stay (the holiday property information folder is comprehensive but there is always further information that can be helpful depending on the guests´ particular interests).

“Great villa set in a really quiet area. It is a really good area if you are looking for a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of busy towns. The house has only one disadvantage as far as I was concerned and that it is set on a steep hill and therefore walking down to the town was ok but the climb back up was exhausting. There are really great places to eat out in all the surrounding towns.”

“Some of the shutters don`t shut properly and are in desperate need of a paint.
The top garden is dreadfull we never used it once as it iwas very overgrown, we felt it was a waste as if it had been well kept it would have been nice to have had meals around the table which is located in the garden.
The patio door scrapes on the floor when opening,so needs looking at.
The manuals for all the appliances could do with being put in the information folder or even a quick guide written out by the owners on how things work.
A feedback book was not in the villa so we couldn`t write our comments.
Obviously there is no inventory completed for the kitchen as Gordon the caretaker wasn`t aware that there was no plastic plates and bowls until we told him.
The villa wasn`t up to the usual standard of cleaning that we have come to expect from other villas. There was crumbs and ants feeding off them underneath the basket with the welcome pack in the kitchen. Also three off the mugs on the mug tree holder could do with a good bleach as they had awful tea stains. Underneath the fire had never been cleaned neither had the back of the TV. There was not many pegs and what was there were all broken on the floor next to the washing line. There was no small brush for the dustpan in the kitchen. The cutlery could do with replacing as it was old and worn.
Luckily none of the above ruined our holiday as we borrowed things from our relatives who lived near by but if more attention was taken on the villa it would be far better. We have stayed in villas in the area for the past four years so we know what standard to expect.”
Owner's response: Thank you for taking the time to complete the review after your stay at Las Naranjas. We have informed the owner of your property and garden issues. We are sorry you were dissatisfied with the standard of cleaning at the property - we were not aware of this and, had we been aware, we would have welcomed the opportunity for housekeeping to immediately return to the villa and put right any problems you had. We include this subject in our terms and conditions as we feel its important that we have the ability to put right any matters with which guests are dissatisfied as soon as possible and during your stay. Nevertheless, we have fully taken on board your comments and ensured that the villa has pegs and a small brush for the dustpan - we understand Gordon purchased the plastic plates and bowls during your stay.

“We had a lovely stay at this villa. It is very convenient for Jalon town (few minutes by car but also within walking distances), which has all the shops you need plus a great supermarket. The setting and the view from the villa, especially the pool and outdoor dining/BBQ area is fantastic! The information folder in the villa was useful. We used it for info on local markets and beaches. We would definitely recommend this villa!
The only complaints are we would have liked more cooking utensils in the kitchen and for the BBQ, and we couldn't find the DVD player.”
Owner's response: Thanks, C. We have now purchased and installed the vegetable peeler and BBQ utensils for the villa - and thanks for alerting us to this. Also, we have amended the property listing from DVD player to video player!

“Excellent setting on the hillside, very private sunbathing area, fantastic views across the valley. Accomodation was clean & spacious with plenty of space both inside and out.Stayed mid May & found the terrace to be cold [due to the constant breeze when sitting in the shade] despite the sun beating down, maybe some form of wind break would be beneficial. Obviuosly the breeze will be very welcome in high season. Sandy who met us and showed us around the villa on arrival was very pleasant & helpful despite the delayed flight.
Many thanks”
