About the property

2 bedroom apartment on 5th floor of Puerto Mar complex. Fully equipped, stunning beaches are just across the road. Secure underground parking with lifts to all floors.

This beautiful apartment set in a luxurious complex, sleeps up to 6 people and comprises of two bedrooms, a lounge/diner, bathroom, fitted kitchen and a good size balcony for sunbathing, with stunning views overlooking the complex and the Mar Menor.

The accommodation is well equipped and furnished to a high standard by the owners, with all linen and towels supplied as standard. The lounge is open plan with a bed settee, dining table and chairs, & wall unit, as well as TV.

A patio door opens onto the balcony, which provides views of the complex. There is jacuzzi, children’s play area. The La Manga Strip is totally unique - a strip of land 20 km long and only 300 metres wide that nestles between two seas – The Mediterranean and The Mar Menor (Little Sea). The calm waters maintain a very pleasant temperature that never drops lower than around 18 degrees centigrade, and contain a very high content of minerals.

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£) and are based on 6 people sharing.

Price quoted is per week not per person. Price includes key drop off (meet and greet) and key collection (on departure) service.

Price includes full clean and change of linen and towels ready for incoming guests (please bring your own beach towels). For stays shorter than 1 week you will be asked to pay for the clean and the rate is pro rated a 100€ key and damage deposit will be collected upon arrival and returned after apartment inspection upon departure.

Deposit (non refundable) of £100 is required at time of booking with balance due 8 weeks before departure. Longer term lets (favourable rates) available upon request.

About Mar Menor, Costa Calida

This area is probably best known for having La Manga close by, La Manga is one of Europe’s premier sports centres, and you can expect to use some of the best facilities available.

La Manga Del Mar Menor offers whatever type of holiday is preferred. There are areas where windsurfing and sailing are more available due to the good windy conditions, but the small coves and Mar Menor Lagoon also allow for other watersports.

If a more leisurely break is your idea, then there are plenty of sheltered beaches and waterside cafes to enjoy the tapas and sangria. It is a unique part of Spain, with a cosmopolitan atmosphere and much to see and do.

Owner's Tips...

It is 10 min walk to the beautiful Tomas Maestre Marina with an excellent range of restaurants offering many international cuisine including French, Greek, Mexican and (of course) Spanish. The promenade is an ideal place to sit in the evening to watch the sun go down over the Mar Menor. There are shops and boat charters out of the Marina into both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. An hourly ferry service has recently started which goes across the Mar Menor to the small town of Santiago de la Riviera. The historic city of Cartagena is about 40 minutes away by car and La Manga club about 30 minutes where you can enjoy the golf, recreational facilities such as horse riding, health & beauty spa, La Manga kids club or casino. Also, nearby 9 hole golf course recently opened.

If you're a lover of golf then at La Manga Club - only a 5 minute drive - you are really in for a treat. Each of the three championship courses represents a different challenge, with the south course having hosted the Spanish Open on several occasions. Within the hills, which back onto the Mar Menor, and just under 5 minutes drive away, is the world famous La Manga golf club and sports complex. Open to the public all year round the club boasts three 18-hole championship courses, seven football pitches used for training by teams from all European leagues, 28 tennis courts, a pitch & putt course, cricket, squash, swimming pools and a gymnasium. There are also two restaurants, a 5-star hotel with nightly entertainment and a casino. Other courses in this haven for golf enthusiasts within easy driving distance are Vilamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor, Altorreal and the new course La Finca. In fact, you could try a different course each day of the week

The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean along the La Manga strip are a haven for Water Sport enthusiasts and renowned for scuba diving. The shallow waters and the absence of tides also make the Mar Menor the ideal place for all types of water sports. La Manga has ten teaching centres (Escuelas de Vela) which means that no one need travel far to practice the water sport of their choice. All the centres offer the best and most up-to-date equipment, with courses in sailing and wind-surfing. Many of these schools also offer courses in catamaran sailing, canoeing and water skiing. The presence of many underwater archaeological sites and sunken ships has turned the area of La Manga and Cabo de Palos into one of the most popular spots for scuba and deep-sea divers from all over Spain. Diving clubs and schools exist both at Cabo de Palos and in La Manga, and these organise courses throughout the year with daily trips by boat and equipment rental to newcomers.

The La Manga strip, just a walk along the beach or 5 minutes away in the car, offers many restaurants, bars and shops. At its tip is a superb new marina with wonderful views across the Mar Menor to one side and the Mediterranean to the other. Few can resist the chance to swim in two seas on the same day. The 73km of coastline of the Mar Menor is the home of tranquil villages and waters, which are rich in salt and iodine - making this area the best for helping to cure infections and rheumatic disorders. Some of the most important villages are San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcazares, Los Narejos, Islas Menores, Mar de Cristal and Playa Honda. The ancient port of Cartagena is the second most important city in the region and the centre of the Mediterranean Maritime Department. It predates to the Roman period and boasts the ruins of a Roman theatre, archaeological museums plus a number of interesting examples of military and modernist exhibits and architecture.
