About the property

A renovated farmhouse in the rural village of Soo, Nr. Famara, Lanzarote. 3 Bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 6, private fully heated pool, car hire recommended.

Casa Margarita has been lovingly restored by John and Jacky Kennedy, who whilst adopting an overall traditional style have created a house where both antique and modern pieces sit at ease with their surroundings. A house incorporating every modern convenience whilst maintaining warmth, rusticity and charm.

At Casa Margarita life revolves around the inner courtyards. The spacious accommodation comprises of lounge with volcanic stone fireplace, separate dining room, fully equipped kitchen, three large double bedrooms and three bathrooms, two of which are en-suite. The pretty central courtyard with it's artistic tiled floors offers guests both sunny and shady retreats. The second courtyard complete with large Manrique style barbecue and a covered dining area is the perfect place for al fresco dining. A large secluded tropical garden and pool area, with palms and many other specimen plants provides ample sunbathing space - with a pool heated to a constant 28 degrees C.

For your entertainment there is a CD player, sattellite television and DVD player, there is also a book and DVD library available.

In the kitchen there is a range cooker with large oven, microwave, coffee maker, fridge / freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher, and for those who like to cook al-fresco there is the large barbecue.

A welcome pack is provided for guests on their arrival. Twice weekly towel change, weekly maid service, pool cleaning twice per week.

Changeover days are flexible. The house is available from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival – vacate by 10.00 am on the day of departure.

For late arrivals,it is possible for a meal to be prepared for the day of your arrival, by arrangement.

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£) and are based on 2 people sharing.

No premiums are charged for Christmas / New Year but a party size of six is required.

A deposit of £200 secures your booking, with the balance due 2 weeks before arrival.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (£) although Euros are accepted. Euro prices are also shown.

Prices are:

£780 per week (€960) based on 3 people sharing - £260 (€320) per person

£960 per week (€1200) based on 4 people sharing - £240 (€300) per person.

£1090 per week (€1360) based on 5 people sharing -£218 (€272) per person.

£1210 per week (€1510) based on 6 people sharing - £202 (€251) per person.

About Soo, Lanzarote

A 30 minute drive from Arrecife airport, the village is situated on the edge of the El Jable plain, between La Santa and La Caleta de Famara. Soo is a traditional village where life continues much as it has for many years. Small scale farming and goat herding are the main local occupations in this, one of the first villages on the island. Four local “Tiendas” (small supermarkets) can more than cater for your daily needs, although there are larger supermarkets in nearby La Santa and Tinajo.

Owner's Tips...

The location of this house makes it perfect for those wishing to enjoy a relaxed rural holiday. For the more active guest there is the possibility to cycle, walk, surf, kiteboard, windsurf, fish and dive.

A local bike shop will hire road and off-road bikes, delivering them to the house. They also offer advice on where to cycle.

There is horse riding in the village for the experienced and elsewhere on the island for the less experienced.

For the more adventurous hang gliding is really popular. Bring your glider - lots do - winter time is best for this sport!

Famara beach, one of the most spectacular and largest on the island is only a 5 minute drive whilst Costa Teguise golf course, Timanfaya National Park and the wine growing region of La Geria are within easy reach.

The old capital of Teguise with its many craft shops and Sunday market is only a 10 minute drive away. Many good restaurants can be found in the surrounding villages – John and Jacky will be more than willing to point guests in the right direction.
