About Casas Blancas

Lovely complex of adjoined holiday houses, located in one of Salou's nicest coves, the Cala Crancs. There is a beautiful community garden with a large swimming pool. The house is completely refurbished in 2009 and consists of 2 floors. The spacious living/dining room exits to the large patio which has a breathtaking view of the sea and the beach. Your relaxing beach holiday is sure to be a succes here!

“Nice view! Good location and near to sandy beach. However we were distressed by hordes of ants!!! They was everywhere!”

“On the positive side, this villa is in a good location with a pleasant sandy beach a short walk away. This was ideal for our 2 young children. The villa complex is attractive and we liked the shared swimming pool. Parking is OK. The view from the patio was great, air conditioning worked and there is a good sized shower.

There are were a number of downsides which made this property less practical than others we have stayed in. The property smelled damp and unused on arrival. Also the bathroom tap was broken when we arrived and once fixed remained stiff and our children were unable to use it. Returning from the beach there was no outside shower (a feature we've found very useful in other properties) so keeping the villa clean inside took more time than we'd have liked on our holiday. The eletricty supply was erratic and fuses kept going, especially when the oven was turned on; it came back on quickly but it happened so often it was a small nusiance. The biggest concern I would raise is the security - there was one bolt to keep the external patio doors closed but no lock. We didn't spot this as an issue until the villa was broken into by the removal of a window pane to access and open the bolt. We had a few items stolen and this then cost us time with the police reporting the incident. On arrival the same window pane was missing which does in hindsight make us wonder if there have been previous break-ins at this property.

The Universal Holiday Centre did respond to several our comments well, for instance fixing the window and tap quickly and providing a brush and coffee perculator when requested.

Overall, the location is great, close to the beach in an attractive complex with well-maintained gardens and a good shared pool, but not enough attention given to the practicality, security and maintenance of the villa itself which is a shame because it could be very good with a little more care. For the price, I think you can get much better value elsewhere so I would not recommend it.”
