Carlara is superb 5 Star Modern villa, you will be 250m from the amazing Sea front promenade walk to Playa Blanca, right along the Atlantic sea's edge, where there are 2 lighthouses and Fuerteventura and Los Lobos views Bus service runs every 30 mins and taxi's to surrounding areas and beaches, so a car is not necessary.
Playa Blanca boasts two PADI dive sites and lots of other water sports, plus golf about 30 mins drive away and lots and lots of other things to do for all ages.
Carlara is really spacious, Newly decorated inside and outside, in a large plot of 750 sq mtrs; designer styled, luxury villa with cool marble floors throughout. A Single storey building, so good for youngsters & elderly, the villa has 3 bedrooms, 3 bath/shower/wash rooms; access for wheelchair users. Please note the two handle bars for easy access into the pool.
Situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac (1 of 2 villas with its own private road) pool facing south so lots of sunshine all day. There is no passing traffic or pedestrians/passerbys, very quiet and relaxing. Situated in the far south of the island which receives the best weather most of the time !
The spacious lounge with high cool vaulted ceiling and marble floors, has 3 Italian soft cream leather sofas with cushions and poufe. Throws are there if needed; A widescreen Plasma TV with SKY plus HD satellite package with SKY Sports & Family; A DVD player with more than 150 up to date films (new ones always being added), great for all the family. There a is CD player provided for your enjoyment with CD's. I-Pod docking station (adaptors for mp3 & mobile phones & ps2) with speakers. A small library of books along with island information and brochures are availble for guests use. Guests will be emailed a indepth villa manual.
Adjoining the lounge thro' to the kitchen we have a breakfast bar; here you may enjoy a breakfast of delicious fresh muffins from the local bakery (only 2 mins away). Also great as the 'cook' can still join in with everyone ! ps we have just put in a couple of cookery books, like barbeque and cocktails so you can experiment if you wish.
The double patio doors open out onto the huge sun area with 12'x18' shaded pergola and electrically heated pool, so always warm. 28+ degrees is soooo great! and the pool is tested and treated & cleaned twice a week . The whole patio area and pool face south west, giving great sunbathing and a huge covered pergola area for those who prefer the shade.

All bedrooms have Air-Conditioning and high cathedral ceilings allowing the cool air to circulate and allowing you to keep the windows closed & any odd mozzie out ! Wonderful marble floors throughout and Italian marble bathrooms. A DVD/TV player is provided in each room. Great attention has been paid to detail, just try the designers Fenn Wright Manson super thick Egyptian cotton fluffy towels and of course, use the Molton Brown hand soap provided.
Eygptian cotton towelling dressing gowns are provided for use during your holiday. And New towelling slippers for each guest to use on their holiday and take home !!
The Colonial style Master bedroom with Air-conditioning/heating, has a Brand New specialist Memory mattress, Super-Kingsize bed (6' x 6'6), along with 100% cotton Ralph Lauren designer beautiful linen and a good choice of pillows, all of excellent quality. There is a spacious walkthrough changing room with plenty of solid teak wardrobe space & wooden hangers. A dressing table with 3 mirrors and stool nicely fits into the big master bedroom and your own hair dryer, TV & DVD. Plenty of space for a cot or another bed.
Patio doors open onto the heated pool & sun terrace great for just stepping out for a morning dip! Plenty of pool/beach towels are provided plus extras to put on the sun lounger, saving on your luggage allowance.
En-suite bathroom includes bidet, shower and bath, & loo.
A further 2 twin bedded rooms, with air-conditioning/heating, 100% cotton Ralph Lauren designer linen, DVD/TV, & has lots of wardrobe space and plenty of hangers and 2 hairdryers, have their respective bathrooms/wc's opposite; all overlook the pool and sun terrace. The twin beds can be linked together with kingsize mattress comforter and kingsize, 100% cotton designer linen (small charge).
All bedrooms have 100% cotton linen from designers like Ralph Lauren, thick Egyptian Fenn Wright Manson designers exceptional quality cotton towels and large bathsheets; and to snuggle into, towelling bathrobes for your use whilst at Carlara; and just for you new cotton towelling slippers. Do not forget, a choice of pillow, tempor, white goose down, foam and hollow fibre, and more!

All rooms overlook the private, south west facing, electrically thermostatic heated private pool, up to 28+ degrees if you wish (all year) with great sun terrace and large pergola shaded dining terrace, includes quality sun loungers, now with designer luxurious Thick Mattresses; extra beach/pool towels and some inflatable pool toys, saving weight in your luggage !
For ease of access the pool, has two handle bars and Roman steps, and this is cleaned and tested twice a week. Brand new for this season, Marimekko designer Patio plates, bowls & new glasses (all unbreakable) for eating around the pool without the worry of any glass or china breaking.
All of this is surrounded by a 1.5 metre wall with a 1.5 metre Trellis fence on top all surrounding a wonderful sub-tropical planted garden, with Palm Trees, Birds of Paradise, Orelander, Catus and Bourganvillea, and is well maintained monthly.
Meals can take place in the ‘Al fresco eating area’ , a spacious covered dining terrace with huge rustic table that can seat 10, so inviting friends is no problem. Rustic seating with designer thick cushions, Lead crystal glasses, silver ice bucket, great dinner-ware, make dining a sheer pleasure. Even a drinks/food trolley is provided to help set the table & clear up!!
There is a huge brick built Canarian barbecue in the sub tropical planted garden. Or, if you prefer, you may wish to dine in the Atrium using the Brand New, modern wicker dining table and chairs with cushions.
Exclusive to this type of property is a wonderful indoor glass roofed courtyard - Atrium with the ratten dining suite, great if you prefer to dine inside. This also overlooks the pool and terrace, great for breakfast , supper, of even a fantastic party etc or maybe just a night cap looking up at the stars.
Washing machine, & tumble dryer (no damp towels ever !), airing rack, iron & ironing board are in the utility/solana. Even an car plug in electric cooler box for trips to the beach.
The fully fitted kitchen has every amenity, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ceraminc hob & oven and great selection of dinner ware, serving dishes, we even have a serving trolley! ordinary glasses and cut crystal glasses for indoors; plus lots of quality extras like blender, wok, cafeteire, micro with grill, sandwich maker - plus all the normal items. Just shipped in new Denby dinner service !
Villa has a safe and security alarm system. 2+ car park spaces and only 2 mins walk to the nearest bakery, restaurants, takeaway, pubs and small supermarket with UK newspapers.
The nearest beach Calimera is only 15 mins walk, local dive centre 2.5 kms, golf course 35 mins drive; The centre of Playa Blanca 5 mins drive and the taxi from the villa is just about €3 euro. Do not forget the new bus service €1.50 a trip only one minute walk from the villa.
We have really tried to provide a home from home and have listened to our guests requests & comments. Our English managers who are just wonderful, live 5 mins away, and provide a great welcome pack of bread, cheese, ham and marmalade, butter, water, wine, coffee, tea, orange juice, milk & bathroom tissues.
The cleaning team ensure that the villa is scrupulously cleaned before your arrival, they have very high standards. The same with the pool, which is testing twice a week, balanced and cleaned.
We have also produced a manual, that includes masses of information about the villa, the island, the beaches, restaurants and things to do. All available by email before your trip.

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has many advantages for those who are looking for sun, sea and sand as well as good fish restaurants that generally host the catch of the day. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the main harbour.
The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to be one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view - perfect for couples and families.
Playa Blanca also boasts two dive padi dive centres.
New bus service every 30mins goes to surrounding Playa Blanca areas and beaches.
A very useful small supermarket with most day to day items along with suntan lotions etc (with daily UK newspapers) couple of pubs (with SKY LIVE Satanta Football and premium matches) and some cafes and a Mediterraean restaurant. The bakery has just the most mouth watering cakes, bread, crossients etc, just 1 minute walk from the villa.
Down the road there are some Excellent new local restaurants, a steak restaurant, Italian and fish restuarant. 15 mins walk.
Breathtaking coastal promenade walk (250m from the villa) to Playa Blanca about a 40 mins leisurely walk with lots of places to stop by for a drink or meal; But only about 15 mins walk to the nearest small beach Calimera or 2 mins drive. The beaches of Lanzarote are to die for!!
There is a 9 hole Pitch and Putt golf near Dorada Beach a few mins drive away. All par 3 and partners with the Canarian Federation of Golf. That means you need to have a handicap to be allowed on the course. Two other golf courses are 30 mins drive.
There are two excellent golf courses within a 30 minute drive at Costa Teguise and Tias, both are open to visitors.
Or hire a car and go out of Playa Blanca and discover the Papagayo beaches, try Femmes for an early dinner, Golfo is great for lunch and a stroll. Graciaosa (via the ferry at Orzola is good for a day trip if feeling adventurous).
Mirador del Rio worth the diversion for stunning views and to Arrieta after for lunch and a swim... that should get you started. On an evening try Bodega at Uga for a stunning dinner!! Or nearer, please try La Bocaina outskirts of Playa Blanca, a fantastic Torrnedos Rossini.

“We spent two very relaxing weeks in Carlara. We have been having villa holidays for a number of years and this villa is certainly one of the very best . It is in a lovely peaceful location, is beutifully furnished and extremely well equipped - the photographs don't do it justice in terms of the space and quality of Carlara. It is all the "little" extras that make Carlara so good, the baathrobes and slippers, the luxury bedding and towels - which really are sumptuous - , the DVD collection etc. etc. etc. We would also have to say that all the communication with the owners and the attemtion from their team in Lanzarote was very helpful, friendly and made the holiday even more of a pleasure from the initial contact to our fortnight in Carlara. If you are considering staying in Playa Blanca then you must consider Carlara.”

“A very good 3 bedroom, two and a half bathroom, incl master/en suite, privately owned villa in a quiet residential area with own heated pool, fully equipped kitchen, lounge, separate dining in an atrium, utility with washer & dryer. Outdoor Canarian BBQ, al fresco dining table/chairs under covered patio area with sun loungers - highly recommended. Full TV/Sky/DVD/CD games console and combo TV/DVD in all bedrooms.
If you only want to 'chill' you are 10 mins walk from sea, maybe 20 mins to a beach and only 5 mins walk from an array of food and drink hostileies, mini supermarket(s), patisserie/ice cream, all serving a full variety of local and european food/drink.
If you wish to 'see' Lanzarote hire a car, we however just opted for a lazy week and took a taxi from the airport - 35 mins and ~45 euros each way. There is a regular local modern bus service from the esplanade to and from Playa Blanca.
A very friendly location with facilities mainly serviced by 'Brits'. On call villa managers who provide a well come pack to get you in - tea, coffee, sugar, bread, wine, marmalade etc. For 23 euros hire their dongle for IT access.
Full and detailed instructions supplied by the owners prior to arrival. You could not wish for more - excellent!”

“We had a wonderful holiday, despite the rain, we had 7 of the 16 days of rain for lanzarote during our week. The villa is very well equipped,it's was like a home from home. It felt very comfortable, which made the bad weather seem more bearable. The park was quite and well designed so you didn't feel that you were on top of the next villa. You do need car here, as the local restaurants and shops are basic.

“We spent a wonderful week at Carlara in March. The drive from the airport only took us about 40 mins even in the dark and a little stressed from the flight(it was delayed!), but as soon as we entered the villa we were very impressed..large and spacious, beautifully decorated and a very much appreciated Welcome Pack.. tea, coffee, milk, cheese, ham, bread, butter..Wine&Beer!! that first evening we spent around the pool..under the fairy lights just taking it all in.
The bed in the Master bedroom was the biggest and most comfy I've ever slept in..the next morning we wandered around in our complimentry robes and slippers!
There's a parade of shops 2 mins walk away with a great bakery opens at 8am just right for breakfast pastries!
you can take the coastal walk into Playa Blanca which is a delight passing shops cafes and bars on the way.
Plenty of restaurants there but we only ate out twice.. why bother when we could BBQ at 'home' !
The pool was warm and to be honest we spent most of our time just lazing about around the villa but we did visit a very nice beach 5 mins drive away.
The villa is equipped with DVD & video with loads of up to date videos to watch.
We would recommend Carlara to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday and can't wait to go back. The weather was great 25C...”
