The marina of Puerto Calero was opened in 1990 and was the brainchild of José Calero. It now has no lack of yachts and boats and it's become one of the nicest places on the island with many new boutiques and restaurants to enjoy. The marina is also the starting point for a range of activities including submarine safaris, shark fishing and cruises.
If you enjoy tapas, the restaurant Taberna del Puerto comes highly recommended. Their Canarian potatoes, garlic mushrooms and stuffed peppers are well complimented with the local mojo sauce.
We would recommend car hire whilst staying at the property. There are many restaurants in Puerto Calero, you could eat in a different restaurant every night of the week, from; Al a Carte, Chinese, Mexican, British, Tapas, Italian. All are within a 10 minutes gentle walk along the Promenade to the Marina.
Morning Coffee and Afternoon Tea & Cake is also available.
A Submarine Safari, Diving, Catlanza excursion or a simple Water Taxi ride into Puerto del Carmen old town, and have lunch in a wonderful harbour restaurant.
About us
Phillip, Julie, Natalie & Oliver are the owners of Casa Buena Fortuna (house of good fortune) and we live in Surrey.
Sarah looks after the house in Lanzarote for us, and Dave does the day to day maintenance.
We feel very grateful that most of guests return year after year and sometimes several times in a year! Discount are given for regular bookers.
What we love about our property
We love the peace and tranquility of the house. You can have the best of both worlds, you can go out for dinner every night of the week and eat in a different restaurant. The are some lovely shops and coffee shops in Puerto Calero. Or you can visit Puerto Del Carmen for more shopping.
Take the Water Taxi from the marina to Puerto del Carmen old town and have lunch then either come back via taxi or back on the Water Taxi.
We bought the house as a second home, as we have a son with special needs, so the house has been equipped with a few more luxuries than other holiday homes so we can enjoy our holidays the same as you.
We hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we do, and look forward to returning again and again!

“September 2011 will be our 7th consecutive year at CBF and it will not be our last!! Along with our best friends we have found the perfect place to chill & relax yet still have the opportunity to wander down to sample the delights of the marina's bars, restaurants & shops. It is also in an ideal spot to check out the dolphins (if you are lucky) & yachts!!
The villa itself has everything you could need and its position is second to none!!
It is also an ideal base to discover the beautiful island due to it's fairly central position.
Our thanks as always goes to Julie and her management team who go out of their way to welcome us every year!!”
Owner's response: Carol & Les, thank you so much for the review, we do try to make the house home from home and with our management we feel we achiev this, the guests we have often return year after year like yourselves. Thank you again, Julie
