About Villa Del Mar, Cortijo Viejo
Villa del Mar is located on the sea front of Puerto Calero (10 mins from Puerto del Carmen). Within walking distance of the prestigious Yatch/Boat Marina (private walkway to fantastic shops & restaurants & bars of Puerto Calero. One of the most exclusive areas of Lanzarote, Puerto Calero is close to Puerto del Carmen and an ideal holiday destination for a relaxing time in peaceful surroundings. This sought after area is new and the marina offers a choice of submarine & catamaran trips with brilliant fishing off the rocks. Close to all amenities but very secluded with breathtaking views of Fuerteventura.
The interior of the villa has been furnished to an excellent standard with tasteful decor and spacious surroundings. The villa has a large private terrace and electric heated pool (Cholorine water pool). The villa is over 3 floors:-
On entering the villa there is a open staircase to the upstairs master bedroom with superking bed and en-suite, the patio doors open to a veranda with chairs & table to relax and enjoy the sunset. The master bedroom also has comfy chairs & coffee table. Both bedrooms have wooden floors. The en-suite has bath & shower, Wc, bidet and marble sink area.
The 2nd bedroom (upstairs) has double bed, a seperate bathroom with walk-in shower, bidet, wc and marble sink, this bathroom is on the upper level. Airconditioning in all both bedrooms, large double wardrobes in all bedrooms. Please specify if you require 2 single beds in upstairs bedroom for children of different ages or sexes.
There is a separate fully fitted kitchen with everything you could wish for. This new modern kitchen has all the mod cons inc dishwasher, 4 ring halagon hob, extractor fan, the washing machine is situated outside area next to kitchen.
The spacious living area has a relaxing feel with comfy 3 peice suite, coffee table & side dresser, plasma TV & TV cabinet with DVD player (only few free Sky channels) also stereo system, fravailable ask Paula for code free of charge. Air-conditioning in living area & dining area. The dining area has table & 6 chairs. From the living area the patio doors open up to the private terrace & pool area, with ample furniture for outside dining, there are 6 comfy sunbeds an a outside shower.
The remaining double bedroom has twin beds with en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, wc, bidet and wash basin, this is situated downstairs with air-con and large double wardrobes.
This villa is ideal for families & children, we supply beach towels (helps with you luggage allowance) and everything for toddlers & babies inc toys, cot, highchair, baby monitor etc all free of charge. Free welcome pack on arrival for all guests this includes water, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, kitchen roll, toilet rolls, washing up liquid and dishcloth.

About Puerto Calero, Lanzarote
The marina of Puerto Calero was opened in 1990 and was the brainchild of José Calero. It now has no lack of yachts and boats and it's become one of the nicest places on the island with many new boutiques and restaurants to enjoy. The marina is also the starting point for a range of activities including submarine safaris, shark fishing and cruises.
If you enjoy tapas, the restaurant Taberna del Puerto comes highly recommended. Their Canarian potatoes, garlic mushrooms and stuffed peppers are well complimented with the local mojo sauce.
Owner's Tips
The villa is situated mins walk away from the fantastic yatch marina with (famous McSorleys Irish Bar) and a wide choice of restaurants, including Italian, chinese & local fish restaurants with freshly caught fish of the day. fabulous new Indian restaurant with take away. The submarine trip is a favourite with families & children. There are many designer shops and supermarket close by. Hairdressers & duty free shop. The bus stop is 10 min walk with regular bus going to Puerto del Carmen & Playa Blanca. Taxi costs to Puerto del Carmen approx 10 euro. New Water Taxi from and to Puerto del Carmen only 5 euros per person and fantastic way to travel (every 30 mins).

“Not very often I can say that the photographs did not do the villa or the views justice. From arrival through to departure the whole experience met and exceeded our expectations.
Everyone talks about the view but sitting overlooking the sea watching the sunset no one could tire of it. We even got to see a pod of Dolphins swim by one morning.
Thankyou to Paula for her help and making the booking easy.
I had to think twice about writing this report as more people get to hear about how good it is I could then end up dissapointed if it is booked up next year.”

“Lovely property. Great location - 10 minute walk to the marina for shops, restaurants etc. Sea views from living room and master bedroom absolutely spectacular. Heated pool great.
I would be inclined to consider this a 2-bedroom property - 1 double and 1 twin room. Although there is a third bedroom, it's in the basement with no windows and has a slight musty, damp smell so whoever slept in it would definitely be drawing the short straw.”
Owner's response: Hi Liam thank you for comments, unfortunately the 3rd bedroom has had problems this year due to flooding of the basement & garage area that has been getting sorted by the community complex and this may have left a damp smell we are looking at how to make this better with more vents in the walls but up to flooding had no problems whatsoever so I can only apologise for this and get the problem rectified.

“Have stayed at Villa Del Mar twice, the 1st in November 2009, with 3 friends, the 2nd time was with my husband and our friends in March 2010.
It's location is superb with fabulous views and we were so lucky to see 2 pilot whales passing through one afternoon which was quite special. The master bedroom is very spacious with plenty of storage and a huge balcony with a table and a couple of chairs. It's lovely to waken up to those sea views. The second bedroom is much smaller with 2 single beds which I must say are very comfortable but does feel a little basic in comparison, but you don't tend to spend so much time in your bedroom. The 3rd is in the basement which we didn't use.
The lounge and and kitchen are very spacious and very well equip and comfortable.
The outdoor area has plenty of room for 4 sunbeds and the upper terrace very nice with al fresco dining.The pool ideal for cooling off.
We didn't feel the need to hire a car. We have been to Lanzarote numerous times so have done all the sights.
It is a gentle stroll to the marina with the various restaurants, cafes, supermarket. It has an upmarket feel to the place. One evening we walked up the hill to the iberostar hotel and watched their abba night and had a couple of drinks and was made to feel very welcome.
We had a lovely chilled week and would definately stay again.
The booking process was easy and Paula who manages the villa is very efficient at answering any questions you may have and as she lives on the island any problems are easily solved.
The guest book is testament as there are many repeat visitors.”
