The Costa Calida extends along 250 km from the beach of Carolina in Augilas, a few kilometres from the province of Almeria, to the beach at El Mojon on the boundary with Alicante.
As with most of the Costa's in Spain, Costa Cálida has a second name that it's known by - "The Warm Coast" - due to the fact that it is blessed with over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year. Costa Cálida is also famous for the "Club La Manga" that is reckoned to be one of Europe's most premier sports and leisure resorts offering a range of watersports, golfing, hiking and hill climbing to name a few, making this the ideal location for those wanting an active outdoor holiday.
For those wanting to explore Costa Calida's history, why not visit Cartagena with its wealth of archaeological treasures including a recently discovered Roman theatre, many museums and a port who's history spans over 3,000 years.
El Mojon is also worth visiting for those who wish to witness the tranquilly of the old fishing village and superb beaches that surround it. Nearby you'll find the Regional park of Las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar, the most important wetlands in the region of Murcia, and home to flocks of pink flamingos that reside here each year. Two kilometres away is Lo Pagan, a town with the largest open area mud baths in Europe, several beaches, early morning markets and an ample nightlife.
Costa Calida is an ideal location for those wanting a holiday filled with activities and exploration or equally an escape from home, to unwind and relax in these serene surroundings that are sure to consume you for the holiday of a lifetime.
