Valldemossa is a wonderful village high in the mountains on the west coast of Majorca. The Royal Carthusian Monastery is located here, which is the main attraction to any visitor to these parts. There are several museums to look around, one of which is the Modern Art Museum, which contains works by Picasso and other famous artists. The latest attraction around Valldemossa is Costa Nord, which was developed by the American actor Michael Douglas. He and his family have owned property on the island for many years and he donated some of his personal money to open a cultural centre in Valldemossa.
