This lively resort town is famous for the sherry it produces using the unique white soil which is characteristic to these areas. This seaside town is almost split into two parts with an array of sherry bodegas on one side and the trendy waterfront on the other.
The Plaza de Cabildo is the area for eating and drinking, and the nearby market next door offers much entertainment with people haggling over prices of goods. If you happen to be in Sanlucar in August, watch out for the annual horse race that is held on the beach during low tide. It’s a very historical event and is considered to be one of the oldest races throughout Spain.
