Probably unfairly well known for it's reputation in the 1960's as the first real destination on the Costa del Sol to really take off. And why did everyone flock there? The answer is probably the beach. Miles and miles of sandy beach means you don't have to feel cramped and you can find your own little patch to soak up the sun.
If you want to do some shopping, then head for Calle de San Miguel, which is where it all happens.
