About España Breaks
España Breaks is owned and operated by The Breaks Company (UK) Ltd; a UK-based, online marketing agency specialising in promoting self-catering accommodation across Spain and mainland Europe.
The first "Breaks" website was launched in 2002 with Lanzarote Breaks as the pilot destination. Free to holidaymakers, the service is funded by advertising subscriptions from travel agents and property owners.
Our model is now well proven for attracting quality customers to holiday rental property and we achieve high occupancy rates for owners, at a much lower cost than traditional advertising methods.
With an average monthly audience of over 50,000 unique visitors (peaking at 65,000 in January-March), we have a proven track record for delivering results.
Refreshingly good for holidaymakers
We are well aware people need extra reassurance when booking accommodation direct so we've gone a whole lot further than most holiday rental websites.
1. High quality accommodation comes first
España Breaks was the first portal to introduce a quality scoring system for all property listings, putting the best quality ads at the top of our search results. We call it AdScore.
We reward owners and agents who offer the things that holidaymakers love (e.g. ease of payment, a good review history, offering welcome packs) with higher priority. That means the people who have a track record for providing great holidays get seen first when you're searching.
2. We do identity checks
Unlike other holiday rental sites, we have a tough policy on identity. All advertisers have to show their full names and contact details at all times. We are also the first site to use an ID check scheme that asks advertisers to prove they are who they say they are.
